Female head and neck sweating while sleeping

Many people have the problem of sweating on their head and neck when they sleep at night. Once this kind of problem occurs, it indicates that there may be some problems in your body. You must actively find the cause and take effective measures to solve it. Sweating on the head and neck while sleeping is a typical form of night sweats. Night sweats are a major manifestation of human health. This article will explain in detail what causes night sweats.

Some patients with night sweats sweat as soon as they fall asleep, some sweat after falling asleep late at night, and some sweat as soon as they close their eyes for a while. The amount of sweat produced is quite different. According to the clinical symptoms of patients with night sweats, they can be divided into three types: mild, medium and very severe.

Most patients with mild night sweats sweat easily when they are deep in sleep, around 5 a.m., or 1-2 hours before waking up. The amount of sweat is small, and they only feel a little sweat on the whole body or some parts of the body after waking up, and no sweat is secreted again after waking up. It is usually not accompanied by a feeling of discomfort.

Most patients with mild and medium-sized night sweats will sweat profusely soon after falling asleep, and even their sleeping clothes will be wet. They will stop sweating after waking up, and after wiping the sweat off their bodies, they will no longer sweat when they go back to sleep. This type of night sweats, patients often have a feeling of drying wind, hot sweating, and sometimes dry mouth and throat after waking up.

For patients with extremely severe night sweats, sweat comes out very easily. Soon after falling asleep or just closing your eyes and about to fall asleep, you will sweat a lot, and you will wake up after sweating, and the sweat will stop immediately after waking up. Falling back to sleep may cause sweating again. The amount of sweating is large, and the sweat often has a light salty taste, or the sweat is mixed with sweat odor. Sweating can even make the quilt wet, and you cannot fall asleep without changing your sleeping clothes several times a night. Some severe patients can make the quilt wet. When the quilt is thin or a mat is used, sweat can leave sweat marks on the bed frame. These patients are often accompanied by a significant feeling of drying out, and their mood also manifests as irritability, dry mouth and thirst after sweating, and they like cold water. It is usually accompanied by low-grade fever or hot flashes, fever in the five parts of the body, red cheeks, dizziness, weight loss, unbearable fatigue, dark urine, small urine volume, and constipation.

Mild and moderate night sweats will not cause great harm to the human body, but severe night sweats will make the condition worse over time and develop into "dehydration", seriously endangering the patient's health and personal safety.

Night sweats are a common clinical symptom, especially among people who have suffered from various special diseases for a long time and have a weak constitution. According to Chinese medicine, night sweats are mostly caused by deficiency of both Qi and Yin, which makes it impossible to restrain sweat. If night sweats last for a long time and are difficult to cure, they will further deplete Qi and Yin and harm your health.
