Wearing an IUD is one of the contraceptive measures commonly chosen by married women in my country, but it has a "shelf life". If you feel discomfort after wearing the IUD or when the IUD reaches the shelf life, you need to undergo an IUD removal surgery. So do women need to be on an empty stomach before removing the IUD? Why should they be on an empty stomach? The first step to remove the IUD is usually about 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period is over. Before surgery, an ultrasound examination is required to check the location and shape of the ring to facilitate removal. The best time is 6 to 12 months after menopause, because if you do it too early, you may still get pregnant. The IUD removal surgery itself does not require fasting, but because it may be accompanied by other examinations, it is best to fast a few hours before the surgery. In other words, sexual intercourse should be strictly prohibited before removing the IUD. If there is an inflammation, anti-inflammatory treatment should be carried out first, and then the ring can be removed. In fact, the main purpose is to avoid infection and excessive bleeding during the removal of the IUD. What should you pay attention to after taking out the IUD? (1) Take adequate rest and avoid strenuous physical work. Generally, you need to rest for 1-2 days after the IUD is inserted. You don't need to do heavy physical work within a week to prevent the IUD from falling off and causing bleeding. (2) Pay attention to hygiene and prevent infection. After the IUD is inserted, the vulva should be cleaned every day to keep it clean. There is no need to take a bath in a basin within 2 weeks, and there is no need to have sex within 2 weeks to prevent infection. (3) Pay attention to vaginal bleeding and the falling of the ring. If you find that the vaginal bleeding is heavy, more than twice the normal menstrual blood volume or the bleeding time is long, or the changes in the menstrual cycle are more obvious, you should go to the hospital for examination. During the first three months, you should also pay attention to whether the ring has fallen off. (4) Regular maintenance. Generally, the first check-up after the placement of the IUD is after the first menstruation, the second check-up is within 3-6 months after the placement of the IUD, and the third check-up is a follow-up visit 12 months after the placement of the IUD, and then a follow-up visit once a year. (5) Pay attention to nutritional supplements. After the IUD is inserted, you should pay attention to a healthy diet and appropriately increase nutrition, especially eat more foods rich in iron, such as lean meat, liver, kidneys, eggs and other foods. You can also eat more legumes and increase vegetables and fresh vegetables. Generally, through the above-mentioned healthy diet, you can effectively avoid the physical loss caused to the body by the side effects of the IUD. |
