Ectopic pregnancy common site

Ectopic pregnancy common site

What does ectopic pregnancy mean? Ectopic pregnancy is actually what we often call ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is not a good thing, we must pay attention to it. Ectopic pregnancy often causes a lot of distress to us women, but no matter what, we still have to deal with it actively. So where does an ectopic pregnancy occur?

1. Tubal pregnancy

The most common type of ectopic pregnancy is tubal pregnancy, which accounts for 93%-95% of all ectopic pregnancies. If the doctor does not specify which type of ectopic pregnancy it is, it usually refers to fallopian tube pregnancy. The combination of sperm and egg often leads to embryo implantation in both fallopian tubes. The main reason is that both fallopian tubes have been inflamed before, the lumen has become smaller and narrower, and the combination of sperm and egg cannot occur. Therefore, chronic salpingitis is the main cause of tubal pregnancy. If the fallopian tube inflammation is more serious and causes complete obstruction of the tube lumen, sperm cannot enter the fallopian tubes from the uterine cavity and cannot meet the egg cell, resulting in infertility.

2. Interstitial pregnancy

Sometimes the movement of sperm and egg combining in the fallopian tubes is a little slow, and before they completely enter the uterus, they are retained in the interstitial part of the fallopian tubes in the uterine muscle layer. The bilateral fallopian tubes are a tubular organ of the human body. The part of the bilateral fallopian tubes that passes through the uterine myometrium is called the bilateral fallopian tube interstitial part in medicine. The combination of sperm and egg in the interstitial space for the embryo to implant, grow and develop is a very scary thing. The reason is that the interstitial part of the bilateral fallopian tubes has rich blood supply, and the test tube embryos grow and develop very well here. In addition, the interstitial part of the cyst is not composed of the muscles of the bilateral fallopian tubes, but only a very thick uterine myometrium, so the test tube embryo conceived in the interstitial part can appear very large. But the interstitial part can't bear the weight of a child who is growing and developing every day. Therefore, under certain circumstances, this time bomb will explode! The so-called "explosion" refers to the rupture of the intraepithelial neoplasm. After the rupture, bleeding will be severe, and if treatment and rescue are not immediate, it will be life-threatening.

Cornual pregnancy

If the sperm and egg combine and pass through the interstitial part, but have not completely entered the uterus, the embryo implants in the uterine horn, and the resulting pregnancy is called uterine horn pregnancy. The adverse effects of pregnancy in the corner are slightly different from those in the interstitial part: a very small number of pregnant women can carry the baby to full term, but they cannot give birth and must have a caesarean section. Only during caesarean section can these patients be properly diagnosed. But most people are not so lucky. The muscles at the uterine angle can't bear the pressure of the growing fetus, and they will tear. And the timing is usually relatively late, for example, it may break during the 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy. At this point the blood circulation at the affected area is incredibly dense and the patient will die from internal bleeding in a very short time.

4. Cervical pregnancy

If the sperm and egg combine in the entire uterus and there is no embryo implantation, the embryo implants in the cervical canal, resulting in cervical pregnancy. The cervix is a human organ that is somewhat hard in material and has a relatively weak blood circulation. Therefore, the adverse effects of cervical pregnancy are mostly miscarriage of the test tube embryo, and very rarely internal bleeding. However, a large amount of cervical bleeding during pregnancy is caused by "curettage" of these patients when the diagnosis is unclear. When cervical bleeding occurs during pregnancy, most cases require hysterectomy, otherwise it may be life-threatening.

5. Uterine scar pregnancy In recent years, a new type of ectopic pregnancy has emerged: uterine scar pregnancy. The so-called scar pregnancy means that the patient has a history of uterine surgery, and the sperm and egg combine and the embryo implants at the scar site, resulting in scar pregnancy. Although this scar pregnancy also occurs within the uterus, in fact, the uterine muscle layer at the scar is very weak. When it comes to a certain period of time, the scar will rupture, causing uterine rupture, resulting in intrauterine hemorrhage, and can also seriously endanger life.

6. Rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy

There is a type of ectopic pregnancy called a rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy. Originally humans have only one uterus, but in some people, the uterus does not fuse together during embryonic development, resulting in a series of different uterine deformities such as double uterus, uterine septate, and rudimentary horn uterus. In some people, the mesonephric duct develops, but a defect appears on the inner and lower surface of the mesonephric duct on one side, forming a rudimentary uterine horn. This type of people often have abnormal growth and development of the urinary organs in the same direction. Although it is a rudimentary horn of the uterus with abnormal development, this type of uterus can still cause pregnancy. After pregnancy, the embryo inside is difficult to grow into a normal fetus. It may rupture in the 4th or 5th month of pregnancy, which is also very dangerous.

7. Ovarian pregnancy

It is not clear how this type of pregnancy occurs. It is estimated that after the ovarian follicle ruptured, the egg was not cleared and was not picked up by the fallopian tubes, and the sperm penetrated into the egg and formed sperm-egg fusion. The sperm and egg combine to grow and develop in the uterus and ovaries, resulting in ovarian pregnancy. Although ovarian pregnancy is also a pregnancy in a unique position, it is not very common.

8. Abdominal pregnancy

To put it simply, the fertilized egg embryo implants in an organ in the abdomen or pelvis. There is a lot of controversy in the academic community as to whether it is the mature egg that falls into the pelvis and is induced by the sperm that flows into the pelvis, or whether after tubal abortion, all the test tube embryos fall into the pelvis and continue to grow and develop. The disease of abdominal pregnancy is generally in the pelvis, but there are also reports of embryo implantation just below the liver, on the liver, or on the mesentery. However, no matter where the embryo implants, it is a very dangerous ectopic pregnancy. Even if the diagnosis is correct, the intraoperative mortality rate has reached 20%, indicating the great risk of surgery for such patients.

There are many locations where ectopic pregnancies can occur. Let's take a closer look. As for where it may occur, we will feel more at ease after understanding it, at least we will not be completely confused. We still need to pay attention to the situation of ectopic pregnancy, and solve it immediately once the problem is discovered.
