Where is the hymen? This is a question that many men and women are confused about. We see the three words "broken hymen" a lot in daily life, but when asked where it is, I believe that not everyone can answer it completely. 1Where is the hymen? The location where the hymen is broken should be determined by the thickness and width of the woman's vagina. The broken hymen is located at the starting and ending point of the vagina (starting from the vulva, 2CM to 4CM), that is, at the inner and outer openings of the vagina. The hymen is a thin plastic film attached to the female vagina. It is a connective tissue membrane covered with squamous epithelial cells, containing a small number of capillaries and few nerves. 2. The appearance and situation of ruptured hymen When they are born, the hymen of most girls is broken in a ring shape, that is, its tissue is evenly distributed in all parts of the vulva. When the baby girl grows to about 3 years old, the crescent-shaped rupture of the hymen becomes more and more common. The hymen on the side of the vulva facing the clitoris has less ruptured tissue, while the hymen on the side away from the clitoris has more ruptured tissue. The hymen of adolescents is smaller and thicker. As girls grow and develop, the hymen will gradually become larger and thinner, and have greater elasticity. The hymen of an adult woman is about 1 to 2 mm thick, with connective tissue, capillaries and peripheral nerves in between. In the center of the broken hymen, there is a small round hole with a diameter of 1 cm to 1.5 cm, which is called "hymen hole" in medicine. Menstruation is discharged from the body through this small round hole. The shape of this small round hole is different for each person. According to the shape of the hole, the hymen hole can be divided into more than 30 types, such as circular, oval, annular, sieve, umbrella, lobed, star, septum separated, half-moon, crescent, and mouth. The most common hymen holes are circular and oval. In the Arab world, a crescent-shaped hymen hole is considered the most precious. The reason is that such a ruptured hymen is very rare, with an average of only about 15 people per 100,000 people. In fact, there is no difference in the internal secretion system of all types of hymen holes, let alone whether they are valuable or not. 3 Is the hymen firm after it is broken? The hymen is composed of elastic connective tissue (tendons, aorta and lungs are also composed of this type of tissue) and collagen connective tissue (Collagenous connective tissue), and its left and right sides are covered with flat squamous epithelial cells (Squamous epithelium). The strength of the hymen does not remain unchanged throughout life, and its elasticity changes with age. When a baby girl is born, the broken hymen is rich in blood vessels and squamous epithelial cells. Before puberty, because the uterus and ovaries have not grown and developed, the lack of estrogen can cause the hymen to break and soften. At this stage, its flexion and extension are weak and it is relatively sensitive. When entering puberty, changes in estrogen levels will cause the hymen to gradually thicken until the teenage stage, when its elasticity continues to increase. At this time, vaginal sexual intercourse will not necessarily cause the hymen to rupture (depending on the shape of the ruptured hymen), or even if it ruptures, there will be no obvious cracks. During pregnancy, due to the rise in estrogen levels, the hymen will thicken and stretch again, which will cause the hymen to be completely torn during pregnancy. Of course, if you have never given birth, then with the arrival of menopause, the estrogen level will decrease and the hymen will become very thin and sensitive after it is broken. 4. "Hymen scar" Generally, the hole in the hymen can allow a finger to be inserted slowly, but there are exceptions. Some girls may be born without a hole in the hymen, just as some people have certain congenital defects. In some movies and novels, bleeding from a bed sheet is often used as a sign of a woman's loss of virginity. This gives people the impression that a Virgo will bleed profusely when her hymen ruptures during her first sexual intercourse. From a medical point of view, it is not quite accurate. In fact, when the hymen ruptures, there will not be as much bleeding as when large blood vessels rupture. Most of the bleeding is less, with only a small amount or a few dozen drops of bleeding. Some women may not even have a drop of blood. The hymen will tear after sexual intercourse, and the surrounding area will be irregular, but the material will remain soft and there will be no obvious scars. During childbirth, the hymen is further damaged due to the delivery of the fetus, leaving behind several small raised marks, which are called "hymen marks". |
