Some women will feel pain during the contraction of the uterus after delivery, but most people can bear this kind of pain, which will gradually subside in about three or four days. However, some women will feel more severe pain, even to the point of being unbearable. This abnormal pain will affect the mood of pregnant women and leave a shadow on their hearts. Abnormal uterine contraction pain after delivery may be due to the strong contraction force of the uterus, and breastfeeding stimulates the secretion of oxytocin, which aggravates the contraction pain. The occurrence of postpartum uterine contraction pain is considered normal. If the frequency of uterine contractions is normal, there should be no big problem. However, if the frequency of contractions is too high and there is no sign of relief after more than an hour, you must report this matter and ask your doctor to diagnose whether there are other problems. When the uterus contracts painfully after delivery, you can change your sleeping position more often when you are resting, or lean on the back of a chair or cushion to support your buttocks to relieve the pain. At the same time, you can perform circular massage on your lower abdomen to help the uterine muscles relax and relieve the pain caused by uterine contractions after delivery. In addition, applying heat to the lower abdomen can also relieve some of the pain caused by postpartum uterine contractions. Uterine contractions are when the entire abdomen feels hard, tight, or even painful. However, when the fetus is moving or growing, and the uterus is pulled, it may feel like contractions. Causes of postpartum uterine contractions During pregnancy, due to the needs of fetal growth and subsequent delivery, various systems of the pregnant mother undergo a series of adaptive physiological changes, among which the uterine changes of the urinary system are the most obvious. The uterus creates the fetus. As the fetus grows and the embryo produces hormones, the uterus significantly expands and becomes looser, its uterine volume increases by 1000 times, and the weight of the uterus increases by 20 times. The main histological changes are hypertrophy of uterine muscle cells, and the cytoplasm is filled with actin and sarcoplasmic protein with contraction specificity, providing material life for uterine contraction after delivery. The isthmus is located in the cervical canal and is about 0.8-1.0 cm in non-pregnancy. After pregnancy, as the uterus enlarges, the isthmus gradually flexes and stretches, becomes longer and softer, and expands to become a part of the uterine body, forming the uterine protuberance, which can flex and stretch to 7-10 cm during labor. |
