28 days of menstrual cycle, when is the ovulation date

For women who are preparing to get pregnant, they need to pay special attention to their daily diet and lifestyle to create a good physiological environment for pregnancy. So how do you calculate the ovulation period in a 28-day menstrual cycle?

How to calculate ovulation period in a 28-day menstrual cycle

For women with regular menstrual periods, to calculate when the next menstrual period will come, subtract 14 days from the first day of the next menstrual period. This day is the ovulation period. If the woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, her ovulation period should be around the 14th day of the menstrual cycle; if the woman's menstrual cycle is 40 days, her ovulation period should be around the 26th day of the menstrual cycle (that is, about 14 days before the next menstrual period). The 4 days before and 5 days after ovulation are called the safe period (ovulation period). Very easy to get pregnant.

Women's ovulation period is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period. After the egg is discharged from the ovary, it can survive in the fallopian tubes for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization; the man's sperm can remain active for 2-3 days in the woman's reproductive system, so it is easy to get pregnant if you have sex a few days before and after the egg is discharged. For safety reasons, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, a total of 10 days within the ovulation period, the ovulation period. Since it is very easy to get pregnant during the ovulation period, the ovulation period is also called the fertile period or the safe period.

Contraceptive measures during the dangerous period

Growing women should learn to grasp several key points of ovulation:

(1) Carefully record the menstrual period card to detect the ovulation period: Start recording on the first day of menarche and continue recording for 3 months. In this way, you can understand how many days your menstrual cycle is, that is, how long is the interval between two menstrual periods, and how many days each menstrual period lasts. In this way, you can detect the ovulation period between two menstrual cycles. By avoiding sexual intercourse during the safe period of pregnancy around ovulation, the purpose of contraception can be achieved.

(2) Ovulation temperature measurement method: Ovulation temperature is also called resting body temperature, which refers to the body temperature after the body has completely rested for 6 to 8 hours. Before going to bed, shake the thermometer to below 35°C and place it next to the pillow. After waking up, don't talk, don't wake up, don't drink too much water, place the thermometer under the tongue to measure accurately, write down the body temperature and mark it on the report. The body temperature of growing women shows a biphasic pattern during their menstrual cycle. Before ovulation, the body temperature is lower, generally around 36.5°C, showing an ultra-low temperature phase. During ovulation, the body temperature is even lower. After ovulation, the body temperature rises to 37°C or above and continues until the next menarche. This transition from ultra-low temperature to high temperature is caused by growth hormone secreted by the uterus and ovaries. If the body temperature during ovulation continues to rise for 3 days, it becomes the dangerous period. By continuously and accurately measuring the ovulation body temperature for three months, the time of ovulation and the dangerous period can be accurately measured, and then safe period contraception can be adopted.

(3) Cervical mucus measurement method: This is a simple method to determine the fertile and difficult periods by carefully observing the regular changes in cervical mucus. The changes in cervical mucus depend on your private parts feeling, there are mainly 4 kinds of feeling, namely sticky, slippery, dry and wet. This method is called Bislin's method. When you feel your private parts are slippery, you have entered the safe period and you should refrain from having sex at this time; if your private parts are wet, especially dry, you can have sex the next night. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstrual period or vaginal bleeding.
