Pubic pain in late pregnancy means birth is imminent

Pubic pain in late pregnancy means birth is imminent

The late pregnancy is a very important period, when pregnant women may face delivery at any time. Therefore, abnormal symptoms in pregnant women will be taken seriously. Many pregnant women will experience pubic pain in the late stages of pregnancy, which is considered a symptom before delivery. So, does pubic pain in late pregnancy mean that birth is imminent? Let’s take a look below.

Causes of pubic pain

1. Most reasons

During pregnancy, the fetus is too large and the long-term weight pressure can cause pain or soreness in the pubic bone, groin, etc.

2. A few reasons

That is, the fetus enters the pelvis. Another situation is that the fetus is full-term or there are signs of premature birth. At that time, the fetus enters the pelvis. The pain of entering the pelvis is similar to pubic pain, and the pregnant woman feels it as pubic pain.

Let’s analyze the majority of reasons:

1. As the fetus develops, the uterus of the pregnant woman becomes larger and the pubic bone exceeds the load-bearing capacity.

2. Pubic pain and tenderness in the groin existed before pregnancy.

3. Hidden dangers such as pelvic displacement can also cause pubic pain.

4. Multiple births. If a pregnant woman is carrying twins or even multiple babies, the pubic bone will bear too much weight and cause pubic pain.

5. If you have given birth to a heavy baby, the pubic bone may be affected during the next pregnancy, causing secondary pubic pain.

6. Symphysis pubis separation occurred.

Does pubic pain mean that I am about to give birth?

Whether the baby is about to be born needs to be analyzed according to the specific situation. Parents with cute babies have experienced the process of pregnancy and childbirth. When the baby is about to be born, in addition to feeling pubic pain, there are also uterine contractions, amniotic fluid breaking, etc.

My wife started feeling pubic pain around the 30th week of pregnancy, and she thought she was about to give birth at the 36th week. A previous B-ultrasound examination showed that the baby's head circumference was large and the umbilical cord was wrapped around the neck. She was afraid that the baby would not be able to be born naturally. Even if she was born naturally, it would be considered premature according to the weeks of pregnancy. A birth between 28 and 37 weeks is called a premature birth, and a birth between 37 and 42 weeks is called a full-term birth.

Fortunately, it was just simple pubic pain at 36 weeks, and I finally had a caesarean section at 39 weeks.

Therefore, pubic pain does not necessarily mean that birth is imminent. It depends on the number of weeks of pregnancy, the results of the B-ultrasound examination, the maturity of the placenta, etc.

Personally, I suggest that in the later stages of pregnancy, if pubic pain persists, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up. The results of the examination will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the pregnancy situation.
