Female discharge has a fishy smell

Female discharge has a fishy smell

The genitals of a normal woman should have no odor. Even if there is secretion, it is a colorless and odorless sticky substance. When you find that your secretions have a fishy smell, you should be alert that it is caused by bacterial invasion and there is a risk of gynecological diseases. At this time, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. In daily life, you should also pay attention to cleaning your genitals and change your underwear frequently.

Because the specific circumstances of each female friend are different, the possible causes of the disease may be different. Clinically, the most common fishy-smelling leucorrhea caused by Trichomonas vaginitis is the most common, which needs to be taken seriously by female friends.

The incubation period of Trichomonas vaginitis is 4 to 28 days. There are small red particles or petechiae on the vaginal mucosa, and the pH value is higher than normal.

A large amount of yellow-green or gray foamy secretions flow out of the vagina with a fishy smell, sometimes mixed with a little blood or pus. The vaginal Trichomonas secretions irritate the vulva and cause itching.

The vulva may become red or develop inflammatory ulcers, some of which are caused by moisture and abrasions and may spread to the genital-femoral folds. Pain during sexual intercourse, and symptoms such as urinary pain and frequent urination may also occur.

The fishy smell of leucorrhea is one of the symptoms of pathological leucorrhea, which may be caused by gynecological inflammation. The details are as follows:

1. Fungal vaginitis: The leucorrhea is yellow or white, mostly viscous, sometimes thin, and typically appears like tofu dregs or curds;

2. Trichomonas vaginitis: Leucorrhea is pus-like, yellow, foamy, or like rice water, grayish white, and smelly;

3. Cervical erosion: When the cervix is eroded, the leucorrhea is usually yellow in color, sticky like pus, and mostly odorless.

Diet care

Eat more foods rich in antioxidants, such as foods rich in A, C, and E, which will help increase the body's immunity, help eliminate inflammatory infections, and accelerate the patient's physical recovery; pay attention to a light diet, ensure comprehensive nutrition, avoid spicy, greasy, raw, cold, seafood and other irritants to avoid aggravating inflammation.

Pay attention to hygiene

Patients must maintain good personal hygiene. It is not advisable to have sexual intercourse during the illness period. Clean the vulva with wet water every day and keep it dry. Change and wash underwear frequently. It is best to soak the clean underwear in boiling water for disinfection and expose it to the sun. Do not share bath towels, bathtubs, etc. with others.

Increase your exercise

A positive and optimistic mental state can effectively help the treatment of the disease. You should increase your exercise appropriately in your daily life, which is not only conducive to maintaining a happy mood, but also can improve your physical fitness, get more sun exposure, do aerobic exercise, etc., which are very beneficial to the condition.

Targeted treatment

In addition to paying attention to good daily care, patients should also receive targeted treatment based on their condition. If any symptoms of the disease are found, they should go to the hospital for examination immediately.
