Normal weight for women

Normal weight for women

There is a standard weight for each age group. Being too low or too high in weight will have an impact on your health. People who are too obese are more likely to have diseases such as hyperlipidemia, while people who are too low in weight are prone to low blood pressure, weak bodies, and are prone to illness. Therefore, it is very necessary to understand the normal weight standard. You should lose weight or gain weight according to this standard. Let’s learn how to calculate the normal standard weight for women.

The BMI index (Body Mass Index, abbreviated as BMI) is a number obtained by dividing the weight in kilograms by the square of the height in meters. It is an internationally used standard for measuring the degree of fatness and health of the human body. When we need to compare and analyze the health effects of a person's weight on people of different heights, the BMI value is a neutral and reliable indicator.

1. WHO calculation method

Female: (height cm-70) x 60﹪ = standard weight

For example, if a woman is 165cm tall, her standard weight is: (165cm-70)×60﹪=57kg

2. Simple calculation method

Standard weight = height (m) × height (m) × standard coefficient (20 for women, 22 for men)

For example, if a woman is 1.65m tall, then her standard weight = 1.65(m)×1.65(m)×20=54.45kg.

Calculation formula for measuring standard body weight

Adult:〔Height (cm)-100〕×0.9=standard weight (kg)

Another one is:

Male: Height (cm) - 105 = Standard Weight (kg)

Female: Height (cm) - 100 = Standard Weight (kg)

Standard weight method

Standard weight (kg) = age x 8 + 8 (7 - 16 years old)

Mild obesity: 20% - 30% above standard weight

Moderate obesity: 30% - 50% above standard weight

Severe obesity: more than 50% above standard weight

BMI method

Body mass index BMI = weight (kg) / height (m) squared, kg/m2

Age BMI value

Normal age Overweight Mildly obese Moderately obese Severely obese

Under 6 years old 15-18 18-

6- 11 years old 16-19 19-21 21-23 23-27 27-

Simple calculation method

1. Calculation method 1:

Body mass index = weight (kg) ÷ height (m) squared kg/m^2

Formula: BMI = weight / (height)^2

Normal weight: BMI = 18.5 - 25 (Chinese physical fitness standard: normal range 18.5~23.9, overweight 24.0~27.9, obesity ≥28.0)

Overweight: BMI = 25 - 30

Mild obesity: BMI > 30

Moderate obesity: BMI > 35

Severe obesity: BMI > 40

2. Calculation method 2:

Standard weight = height (m) × height (m) × standard coefficient (20 for women, 22 for men)

Normal weight is within 10% of standard weight

If the standard weight is plus or minus 10%~20%, it is considered to be overweight or underweight.

A standard weight of plus or minus 20% is considered obese or underweight

3. Calculation method three:

Standard weight (kg) = height (cm) - 105

For example, for a man who is 170 cm tall, his standard weight should be: 170 (cm) - 105 = 65 (kg). Anyone who is 10% above the standard weight is considered overweight, and anyone who is 20% or more above the standard weight is considered obese; anyone who is 10% below the standard weight is considered underweight, and anyone who is 20% or more below the standard weight is considered underweight.

Note: The above calculation method is only applicable to adults. Not suitable for children, the elderly, or people who are too short.
