The dangers of contraceptive diaphragms

The contraceptive film is a method of contraception. It mainly uses the contraceptive film to be placed inside the vagina, and then it can play a contraceptive role during sexual intercourse between couples. However, this practice has a great impact on women's vagina, leading to gynecological diseases, vaginal itching and easy rupture. Therefore, couples should understand clearly when using contraceptive films, and they should not use contraceptive films frequently.

Is contraceptive diaphragm harmful to women?

Female external contraceptive pills. It is made of spermicide nonoxynol or alkylphenylol ether with polyvinyl alcohol, glycerin and ethylparaben, and is in the form of a slightly yellow or colorless translucent film. There are two sizes currently used in our country, one is a 5cmX5cm square, and the other is a 5.5cmX11cm rectangle. The medicine film is thin, with 10 sheets in each book (each medicine film is sandwiched between two pieces of soft paper), and one sheet is used each time. Easy to carry. Before sexual intercourse, fold the film in half twice, or knead it into a loose ball and insert it deep into the vagina. You can also insert the penis into the vagina first, lubricate it and then withdraw it, stick the film on the glans penis, push it deep into the vagina, and then withdraw it. Wait for 5 minutes for the film to dissolve before having sexual intercourse. If there is no sexual intercourse or repeated sexual intercourse after half an hour of placement, it needs to be placed again. Some women experience increased vaginal discharge, vaginal itching or burning sensation after using the mask, but this can be alleviated with prolonged use.

How to use contraceptive diaphragm

Before sexual intercourse, fold the contraceptive film twice. Remember to wash your hands first, and fold the film into 1/4 of its original size. Use your index and middle fingers to hold the film and insert it into the deep part of the vagina near the cervix. Wait for 5 minutes before having sexual intercourse. When using the rectangular film, first crumple the contraceptive film into a loose ball, insert it into the top of the vagina with your fingers, and wait for 10 minutes before having sexual intercourse.

1. If there is no sexual intercourse within 30 minutes after insertion, a new film should be put in. The film should be rolled into a soft small ball, not too tight, otherwise it will affect the dissolution. For women with less vaginal secretions, it is difficult for the drug film to dissolve, so it is best not to use this method of contraception. After the film is inserted into the vagina, you should avoid getting up.

2. Each medicine film is separated by moisture-proof paper. It cannot come into contact with water during storage or use. Do not take the isolation paper by mistake when taking it. Contraceptive films cannot be used in combination with contraceptive creams, contraceptive suppositories and other oily drugs. The films should be stored in a cool and dry place.

3. The contraceptive film can only guarantee contraception once. If you have sex again, you need to use it again. After having sex, you cannot flush the vagina immediately. If you don't wash it, it will be absorbed and excreted from the body with vaginal secretions, and will not cause any harm to the body.

As long as the contraceptive film is used correctly, its contraceptive reliability rate should be above 95%. Overall, its contraceptive effect is not as good as condoms.

Contraceptive diaphragms and condoms are similar in nature and are both used for contraception, but there are differences in their usage. There is no harm for women during this period, but even so, they should be extra careful just in case. You should have a sense of timing for sexual intercourse and avoid doing it too frequently to avoid harming your body. Remember this. If you don’t want a baby for the time being, take precautions.
