Why do some people experience menstrual cramps while others do not?

Speaking of dysmenorrhea, people should be very familiar with it. Most women will experience dysmenorrhea, and the cause of it is mostly due to inappropriate behaviors during the menstrual period, such as eating cold, spicy and other overly stimulating foods, or not getting enough rest. Not everyone experiences dysmenorrhea. Some people experience dysmenorrhea while others do not. Here we explain why.

Dysmenorrhea is caused by abnormal contraction of the uterus, but everyone's physical constitution is different, so not every girl will experience symptoms of dysmenorrhea. In addition, during menstruation, there are many things to pay attention to, such as not eating raw or cold food, and avoiding spicy food, otherwise it will aggravate the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and the patient will suffer more pain. Dysmenorrhea is divided into two categories: primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea refers to the absence of obvious organic lesions in the reproductive organs. Traditional Chinese medicine says that pain is caused by obstruction and pain is caused by lack of nourishment. The syndrome differentiation types include qi stagnation and blood stasis type, cold stagnation and blood stasis type, damp-heat accumulation type, qi and blood deficiency type, and kidney qi deficiency type.

Regardless of the type of syndrome causing dysmenorrhea, it is hoped that patients will go to the hospital for diagnosis, syndrome differentiation and treatment, and be given different Chinese medicines for treatment, and the effect will be better if combined with acupuncture treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. Secondary dysmenorrhea may be caused by endometriosis, adenomyosis, and gynecological pelvic inflammatory disease. Treatment methods include surgical treatment, interventional treatment, and pseudopregnancy therapy. The Mirena IUD can also be used to achieve the purpose of pain relief. Therefore, for dysmenorrhea, patients are advised to go to the hospital for diagnosis, find out the condition, and then treat it accordingly.

Menstrual Care:

1. Combine work and rest

During the menstrual period, you must ensure adequate sleep. You can work and labor as usual, but avoid strenuous exercise, such as playing ball, running, carrying heavy objects, etc., to avoid excessive menstrual bleeding or amenorrhea, which will lead to loss of Qi and blood or poor circulation of Qi and blood, and repeated attacks of dysmenorrhea. Some white-collar women who suffer from abdominal pain during menstruation should not sit in front of a computer for a long time. They should walk around appropriately to keep their qi and blood flowing.

2. Correct use of medication

You cannot just endure dysmenorrhea, you should choose safe and effective medications that suit your symptoms. Simply taking painkillers can only temporarily relieve the pain, but cannot completely cure dysmenorrhea. Therefore, it is important to seek medical attention in time, otherwise it will lead to recurrence of the disease, and long-term delays may also worsen the disease and cause patients to suffer great pain!

3. Avoid cold drinks

During or before and after menstruation, people with dysmenorrhea should drink more warm water and should not indulge in cold drinks. Many women still eat a lot of ice cream during their menstrual period, which may reduce the amount of menstruation, shorten the cycle, and aggravate lower abdominal pain.
