Foreign matter in the vagina

1. Vaginal Removal

Older children can insert their fingers into the vagina to hook out the foreign object, or use a small speculum to remove the foreign object with forceps under direct vision. 4. Removal of foreign bodies under direct hysteroscopy

Because the nasal endoscope is short and has no light source, it is sometimes difficult to achieve the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. There are reports of using hysteroscopy to remove foreign bodies from the vagina of young girls: local mucosal anesthesia is required during the operation, and a 1% tetracaine cotton pad is applied to the vaginal opening, and a microscopic examination is performed after 5 minutes. The patient was placed in lithotomy position, the vulva was routinely disinfected, and 500 ml of 5% glucose solution plus 160,000 U of gentamicin was added to flush the vulva. The hysteroscope coated with lubricant is slowly inserted into the vagina. Then the left thumb and index finger are used to hold the cotton ball to compress the vulva to prevent the outflow of fluid and make the vagina swell. The pathological changes are fully observed under direct vision of the hysteroscope, and necessary treatment is performed according to the condition, such as removing foreign bodies, taking biopsy tissues, flushing and applying medicines, etc.

5. Microcolposcopy

In 2000, Parker reported that a small-diameter trocar sheath plus a 2-3 mm endoscope, with normal saline as the uterine distension fluid, could be used to visualize the entire cervix and vagina, to detect small foreign bodies such as colored crayons, and to allow treatment under direct vision. This method is used for the diagnosis and treatment of vaginal diseases in prepubertal children, is simple to operate, causes little damage, and is easily accepted.

6. Vaginal lavage

A catheter can be inserted into the vagina and the vagina can be repeatedly flushed with 40% comfrey oil under pressure. Sometimes small foreign objects such as sand and wheat grains can be flushed out by the flushing fluid, which also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
