Methods of moxibustion on genitals

Paying attention to the hygiene and health of the genitals is an issue that every woman should pay attention to. The genitals are the reproductive organs of the female body. Once the genitals are infected with some diseases, it will affect other reproductive organs and even cause serious gynecological diseases. At the same time, there are a large number of acupoints on the genitals, so if you choose moxibustion, you can also do moxibustion on the genitals. What is the correct method for moxibustion of the genitals?

Main acupoints for moxibustion of vaginitis

1. Zhongji Point

Treatment principle: Zhongji point is mainly used to treat diseases of the reproductive system and urinary system, and has a good therapeutic effect on gynecological diseases such as irregular menstruation, vaginal pain, vaginal itching, dysmenorrhea, and leucorrhea; Ciliao point has a good therapeutic effect on gynecological diseases such as endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and vaginitis; Guilai point is mainly used to treat irregular menstruation, leucorrhea, and vaginitis.

Quick acupoint location: Zhongji point, located on the anterior midline, 4 inches below the umbilicus.

Procedure: Use moxa sticks or moxibustion box to gently moxibustion Zhongji acupoint for 20 minutes each time, one course of treatment is 7-10 days.

2. Baliao Point

Treatment principle: The Bladder Meridian point is where the pelvic cavity is located, adjacent to the uterus, and is where the nerves and blood vessels that control the pelvic organs converge. It is the master switch for regulating the body's qi and blood, and must be unobstructed.

Through moxibustion on the Bladder Meridian, the Qi and blood in the uterus and its surrounding areas can be circulated smoothly, increasing the body's immunity. Moxa itself has a disinfecting and sterilizing effect. After fumigation, the inflamed area can return to normal.

Quick acupoint selection: The eight sacral points are divided into Shangliao, Ciliao, Zhongliao and Xialiao, with a total of eight acupoints on the left and right, which are located in the first, second, third and fourth posterior sacral foramina respectively, collectively known as the "eight acupoints". This is an area.

Procedure: Use moxa sticks or a moxibustion box for gentle moxibustion, about 20 minutes each time. A course of treatment is 7-10 days.

3. Perineum

Treatment principle: Regular moxibustion on the perineum can dredge the meridian knots in the body, promote the exchange and circulation of yin and yang qi, and has a unique effect on regulating physiological and reproductive functions.

Moxibustion on the perineum point can also treat hemorrhoids, blood in the stool, constipation, rectal prolapse, perianal abscess, abnormal leucorrhea, vaginal prolapse, uterine prolapse and other gynecological diseases, frequent urination, prostatitis and other symptoms.

Quick acupoint location: The perineum point is located in the genitals, at the midpoint of the line connecting the posterior junction of the labia majora and the anus.

Operation: You don’t need to find the acupuncture points carefully. Just light the moxa sticks or moxa wool and place them under a stool with holes, and you can fumigate the perineum.

Precautions for moxibustion for vaginitis

1. Adjust the temperature yourself. It is better if the temperature is slightly hot. If it just feels warm, the effect will be very poor. If it's too hot, move it away from the water or it will bubble up.

2. After moxibustion, it is best if the skin appears flushed.

3. If there is moisture in the body, there will be a lot of water on the skin after moxibustion, which indicates that the moisture has evaporated, which is very beneficial to the human body.

3. Avoid taking a bath or touching cold water within 1 hour after moxibustion.

4. For patients with mild symptoms, the effect can be seen after 3 consecutive days, and the amount of leucorrhea, odor and itching will be significantly reduced. For severe cases, a course of treatment is 10 consecutive days, and there will be obvious therapeutic effects if you persist.

5. Women should not use moxibustion during menstruation, pregnancy and lactation. If the inflammation is severe, you must seek diagnosis from a professional Chinese medicine practitioner and then treat other acupoints together. If a woman without a basic knowledge of Chinese medicine uses this method for treatment, it is best to do so under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner to avoid moxibustion of the wrong acupoints and failure to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
