How many months is considered the third trimester?

Generally speaking, it takes about ten months for a pregnant woman to go from pregnancy to delivery. During this time, it is divided into early pregnancy, mid-pregnancy and late pregnancy. The late pregnancy mainly refers to the time after the pregnant woman is seven months pregnant. In the late pregnancy, the fetus is basically mature, and the pregnant woman's physical condition is relatively stable. During this time, it is necessary to strengthen good diet conditioning, maintain an optimistic and cheerful attitude, etc.

How many months is considered the third trimester?

The entire pregnancy period is ten months. The first three months are early pregnancy, four to six months are mid-pregnancy, and after seven months is late pregnancy. Or to put it another way, the number of days and gestational age of pregnancy are calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. That is to say, you can calculate how many days it has been since your last menstrual period, and then you can know how many weeks you are pregnant. A full-term pregnancy lasts approximately 280 days, and any birth between 38 and 42 weeks of gestation is considered a full-term pregnancy. It is also normal to give birth two weeks before or after your due date.

The third trimester refers to the period from the 28th week of pregnancy to the end of delivery (40 weeks), which includes the three months of pregnancy: August, September and October. (30-32 weeks) - After entering the late pregnancy, the intensity of fetal movement will gradually weaken. However, since many pregnant women lack certain medical knowledge, they are afraid that the weakening of fetal movement is due to some problems with the baby. However, this kind of thinking will cause pregnant women to feel anxious invisibly, which is extremely detrimental to the development of the fetus.

Experts say: In the late pregnancy, pregnant women should pay attention to the number of fetal movements, not the strength of the fetal movements. Because in the late stage, the baby has grown in size and his limbs can bend, but there is no extra space in the uterus to restrict the fetus's movement in the mother's belly. Therefore, it is normal for the fetus's movement to weaken. Under normal circumstances, the average number of fetal movements in the morning, afternoon and evening is 5-10 times. It is abnormal if the average is less than 5 times.

The difference between birth at 37 weeks and 40 weeks of pregnancy

Babies who are 37 weeks pregnant should be classified as early babies. At this time, the development of the babies' organs is basically not much different from that of babies who are 40 weeks pregnant. The only biggest difference lies in the development of brain nerves. Data shows that the brain nerves of the fetus develop fastest between 37 and 39 weeks, and these cannot be compensated for through learning and training in later environments. Due to differences in the physical conditions of expectant mothers, the growth of the fetus also varies.

What factors can lead to premature delivery?

1. Those with a history of previous premature birth and/or late miscarriage: The risk of recurrent premature birth in pregnant women with a history of premature birth is 6 to 8 times that of pregnant women without a history of premature birth.

2. History of cervical surgery and cervical insufficiency: Those with a history of cervical conization, LEEP, repeated artificial abortions, dilated cervix, uterine malformations, etc. have an increased risk of premature birth. Pregnant women with cervical insufficiency or cervical length <30mm during 14-28 weeks of pregnancy have an increased rate of premature birth and late miscarriage.

3. In multiple pregnancies, the premature birth rate for twin pregnancies is generally 50%, and for triplets it is 75%.
