Fetal movement in the upper abdomen during late pregnancy

Fetal movement in the upper abdomen during late pregnancy

The fetus in the late pregnancy has developed to a relatively mature stage and will also have some movements. Many pregnant women will notice fetal movements. Generally speaking, fetal movements are regular and occur at a specific time of a day. Sometimes, there will be abnormal fetal movements, such as more intense fetal movements or changes in the position of fetal movements. These may be signs of adverse problems. Here we will explain what is going on with fetal movements in the upper abdomen in late pregnancy.

Fetal movement in the upper abdomen in the late pregnancy is a relatively normal physiological phenomenon. As long as the fetal movement is normal, about 3 to 4 times an hour, it is fine. In fact, there is no need to worry too much. You still need to do fetal heart monitoring and amniotic fluid depth testing to understand the baby's development.

Normal fetal movements are very regular and occur at the same time every day. However, if the fetal movement is too sudden and strong, it may be caused by these two reasons. Pregnant mothers should not be careless.

1. Intrauterine hypoxia

During pregnancy, the fetus may suffer from intrauterine hypoxia due to some extreme behaviors of the pregnant mother or some lazy behaviors. Common examples include excessive use of force by the pregnant mother when moving things, which causes the fetus to be shaken in the uterus and affected by the mother's body, leading to hypoxia and strong and frequent fetal movements.

It has always been advocated that pregnant mothers should not do these physical activities during pregnancy. If the fetus does not form a vitality in the early pregnancy, it is likely to lead to miscarriage, so pregnant mothers should not be too careless.

2. Umbilical cord around the neck

The umbilical cord around the fetus' neck is very common in the second trimester. The fetus in the second trimester is in a stage where it is just becoming active, and the active space in the mother's womb is also very wide. At this time, the fetus may easily get entangled in the cord. When the umbilical cord is wrapped around the fetus, the fetus may feel uncomfortable and produce fetal movement.

Umbilical cord around the neck is also a common phenomenon. In many cases, the umbilical cord around the neck is also related to improper behavior of pregnant mothers. Pregnant mothers should not take it lightly.
