How to regulate your body for pregnancy at 40

How to regulate your body for pregnancy at 40

In fact, when you are over 40 years old, you are an elderly mother. If you want to conceive successfully at this time, you still need to put in some effort. You must first learn to regulate your physical condition, so that the effect will become more significant. Do not let yourself become picky about food, ensure adequate nutrients, eat more nutritious vegetables and fruits, and prevent malnutrition.

Picky eating and dieting

During pregnancy, due to the growth and development of the fetus and the needs of the pregnant mother herself, it is necessary to obtain sufficient nutrients from the diet. Especially in the first three months of pregnancy, the fertilized egg is in the most active period of differentiation, and various organ systems have not yet formed. At this time, the pregnant mother needs more and more nutrients and trace elements.

If the pregnant mother is picky about food and goes on a diet, the various nutrients needed by the body will not be replenished in time, which will inevitably lead to a lack of trace elements and harm the fetus.

Love junk food

The latest research by American scientists has found that trans fats in "junk food" are an invisible killer of female conception. Trans fats can increase the risk of infertility in women by more than 70%.

Generally speaking, a woman consumes about 2,000 calories from food a day. If 2% of the calories come from trans fats, it means she consumes 4 grams of trans fat every day. This amount is easy to achieve with a pie and a few fries or a donut.

Irregular work and rest schedule

Due to your busy work or rich nightlife, you may have the habit of staying up late, going to bed late and getting up late, and sleeping in during the weekends. These bad habits of irregular work and rest are not good for a healthy pregnancy. If you do not get a good sleep for a long time before pregnancy, your brain will become overly tired due to lack of rest, causing the cerebral blood vessels to be in a state of tension for a long time, resulting in symptoms such as headaches, insomnia, and irritability.

Don't like to do exercise

Proper exercise can not only keep you physically healthy, but also make you energetic and maintain a good mental state. Strengthening physical exercise before pregnancy can also enhance the vitality of sperm and eggs and promote healthy pregnancy. But the more exercise is not necessarily better. Excessive exercise can easily harm the body and lead to counterproductive effects.

Suitable exercises before pregnancy include walking (strolling, brisk walking), jogging, playing ball, swimming, climbing, cycling, aerobics, Tai Chi and other aerobic exercises. [5]

Precautions for pregnancy preparation

Basal body temperature measurement is used to determine whether ovulation is normal. Measurement method: Before going to bed every day, swing the mercury column of the thermometer to below 35℃ and place it next to the pillow. When waking up in the morning (after 68 hours of sleep during the day for those on night shift), before doing any activities, place the thermometer under the tongue to measure the oral temperature for 5 minutes, record it and draw a curve for each day. Ovulation usually occurs on the day when the basal body temperature is lowest, or about a week before and after the transition from the low temperature phase to the high temperature phase. The basal body temperature of women with normal ovulation is generally slightly lower after menstruation, and may be even lower on the ovulation day. The body temperature after ovulation is 0.3-0.5℃ higher than before ovulation.
