Will the cervix bleed?

Will the cervix bleed?

Women feel more pain during childbirth because the opening of the cervix will cause women to feel severe pain, and the cervix must be opened to a certain extent to help women induce labor, otherwise women will feel abdominal pain but cannot give birth. During this process, women's amniotic fluid will rupture, and some women will bleed. So will the opening of the cervix cause bleeding?

1Will there be bleeding during the dilation of the cervix?

There will be no bleeding during the dilation process.

Uterine contractions refer to regular uterine contractions. The contractions are irregular and weak at first, then gradually become regular, becoming increasingly stronger, lasting longer, and with shorter intervals, such as an interval of 2-3 minutes, lasting 50-60 seconds. At 39 weeks of pregnancy, when the cervix begins to dilate and soften, there will be a small amount of bleeding, which is called spotting. After spotting, there will be no bleeding during the dilation of the cervix, let alone fluid bleeding. Therefore, there will be no bleeding during the process of dilation of the cervix.

2Will there be bleeding during the opening of the cervix: a sign of female labor

The signs of labor are: spotting, regular uterine contractions and descent of the fetal head. Among them, seeing blood is a more reliable information. Generally, labor will begin within 24-48 hours after seeing blood.

Vaginal bleeding

Usually 24 to 48 hours before the uterus begins to contract, pregnant women will find sticky secretions mixed with blood. This is because the cervical mucus flows out when the cervix softens and thins, which is one of the signs of impending delivery. Although a small amount of bleeding does not mean that delivery is imminent, if the bleeding is heavy or bright red blood is flowing, you should be admitted to the hospital immediately.

Water breaking

The so-called rupture of membranes refers to the rupture of the amniotic membrane surrounding the fetus and the outflow of amniotic fluid; it is one of the signs of labor. Generally speaking, water breaking occurs when the mother suddenly feels a large amount of water flowing out of the vagina; it feels like urinary incontinence and cannot be controlled. However, in the later stages of pregnancy, as secretions increase, there is another possibility that the amniotic fluid does not flow out in large quantities at once, but seeps out slowly. If you are not careful, the expectant mother may ignore this sign of labor because she cannot distinguish whether it is amniotic fluid seepage or secretion outflow; resulting in an increased chance of infection for the fetus. Basis: If you observe that the color of urine turns blue-green, or the leaking liquid feels like urinary incontinence and cannot be controlled, or the liquid flows into the thighs, or the amount has reached the point where the sheets are wet; the expectant mother should suspect whether the water has broken and go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

Regulation pain

Labor pains are the real beginning of the labor process. However, many mothers who have given birth have had the experience of going to the hospital because of labor pains, but the doctor diagnosed it as false labor and asked them to go home, thus wasting their trip. The characteristics of true labor pains are: the pain becomes increasingly intense, the contractions become increasingly frequent, the contractions last longer and longer, and true labor pains will not be relieved by walking.

Because everyone's tolerance for pain is different, it does not necessarily mean that you feel pain. Some pregnant women will experience back pain. As long as the contractions are regular, such as pain every three to five minutes for the first child and each pain lasting more than 20 seconds, or pain every ten minutes for the second child, you can go to the hospital to wait for delivery.

As long as it is your first child, if you have three contractions within ten minutes, each lasting 30 to 40 seconds, and this lasts for 2 or 3 hours, you can go to the hospital to give birth.

Similarly, if the mother has pain every ten minutes with her second child, or feels back pain, a hardening stomach, or contractions every ten minutes for subsequent children, these are signs of an imminent birth.
