Low fever in early pregnancy

Low fever in early pregnancy

Now is the stage of gender equality, but as a mother, you still hope to know the gender of the baby in your belly, so that when preparing things for the baby, you can better discuss the gender of the baby. Some people even judge whether it is a boy or a girl based on the high or low fever during pregnancy. In fact, high or low fever has nothing to do with the boy or the girl. Pay attention to these treatment methods.

Experts point out: Taking medicines during pregnancy is not absolutely safe for the fetus, including some Chinese patent medicines.

Pregnant women must take medication under the guidance of a doctor. When doctors decide whether to use medication for a pregnant woman's cold, they follow a principle: medication should only be considered during pregnancy when the benefits of the medication to the mother outweigh the risks to the fetus. If possible, any medication should be avoided within the first three months of pregnancy. Dr. Zhang Taoling from the Community Service Department of the Maternal and Child Health Hospital believes that when pregnant women catch a cold, they should be treated according to different situations.

A. Although you have a cold, but you do not have a fever, or your temperature does not exceed 38 degrees when you have a fever, you do not need treatment and it will not affect the fetus. If a pregnant woman has symptoms such as cough, she can take some medicines that will not affect the fetus under the guidance of a doctor.

B. If a pregnant woman catches a cold and has a high fever of over 39 degrees and lasts for more than 3 days, it can be treated in two situations. In the first case, if the pregnant woman who has a cold is within 2 weeks after ovulation, the medication may have no effect on the fetus. In the second case, if the pregnant woman with a cold is in the ovulation period for more than 2 weeks, during this period, the fetus's central nervous system has begun to develop. If the pregnant woman has a high fever of 39 degrees for one day, it may affect the fetus; if it lasts for more than 3 days, it will definitely affect the fetus; if the high fever of 40 degrees lasts for more than 1 day, it will definitely affect the fetus. In the above situations, the doctor may advise the pregnant woman to terminate the pregnancy.

There is currently insufficient clinical evidence to prove that a pregnant woman's persistent high fever will definitely affect the fetus (there are data from animal experiments). Therefore, at this time, the doctor may analyze the condition and medication to tell the fetus the risk of possible damage and make recommendations. Ultimately, it is up to the pregnant woman and her family to decide whether to terminate the pregnancy.

Prevention: It is best for pregnant women not to catch a cold during pregnancy, so expectant mothers should avoid going to public places; strengthen nutrition; ensure sleep; and try to avoid contact with people with colds to reduce the chance of infection. Let’s first talk about why we have a fever. A normal person's body temperature fluctuates slightly within 24 hours, and the difference generally does not exceed 1. C. Under physiological conditions, the body temperature is slightly lower in the morning and slightly higher in the afternoon; the body temperature is slightly higher after exercise or eating; the body temperature of the elderly is slightly lower; and the body temperature of women is slightly higher during menstruation or pregnancy.

Why does the human body temperature rise?

The body temperature of a normal person is managed by the cerebral cortex and hypothalamus temperature regulation center (the heat production center in the posterior hypothalamus and the heat dissipation center in the anterior hypothalamus), and the heat production and heat dissipation process is regulated by neural and humoral factors to maintain a dynamic balance between the contradictions of heat production and heat dissipation. Therefore, a normal human body has a relatively constant body temperature.

If pyrogens act directly on the body temperature regulation center, or the body temperature center is dysfunctional, or there are various reasons that cause excessive heat production and insufficient heat dissipation, causing the body temperature to exceed the normal range, it is called a fever. In most cases, a fever is the body's defense against disease. The fever that people generally know is 38. Around C, in fact, it is still divided into very fine categories clinically.
