Increased vaginal discharge

Increased vaginal discharge

When women have gynecological diseases, their vaginal secretions will increase. At this time, women will find that their underwear becomes dirty just after changing for a while. This phenomenon is very similar to that before women have their menstrual period. However, if it is caused by a disease, it must be treated actively, otherwise it is likely to cause cervical erosion or vaginal infection. So what should I do if the vaginal secretions increase?

Causes

1. Increased physiological vaginal discharge:

1. Frequent sexual intercourse leads to increased vaginal discharge. When women have sex after marriage, sexual excitement will cause pelvic congestion, which will then lead to a large increase in vaginal discharge.

2. Increased sexual secretions during pregnancy. When a woman is pregnant, the secretion of sex hormones increases, which causes the cervical glands to proliferate and secrete more thick mucus. In addition, as the fetus grows, it compresses the mother's pelvic cavity and vagina. It causes nearby blood vessels to dilate and become congested, and also causes an increase in vaginal mucosal exudate, so that vaginal secretions show a normal physiological hyperactivity phenomenon. No treatment is needed as it is not an infection.

2. Pathological increase in vaginal discharge:

1. Pathogen infection. The use of contaminated sanitary products allows pathogens to enter the reproductive tract through the vaginal opening, causing infection and increased vaginal discharge.

2. Trichomonas vaginalis infection. This infection can easily cause an increase in vaginal discharge, accompanied by a foul odor, and itching of the genitals.

3. Cervical erosion. The trauma of childbirth, changes in sex hormones, or inflammation of the cervix caused by sexual intercourse may lead to cervical erosion and increase the amount of leucorrhea. A small number of women may experience cervical erosion without any cause, which is called "congenital cervical erosion", which can also cause increased leucorrhea.

4. Filterable viruses infect the cervix, vagina and vulva. Some filterable viruses can be cured without treatment, for example, the filterable virus of the common cold. However, if it is a filterable disease such as condyloma acuminatum, it will often cause an increase in leucorrhea.

5. Candida albicans infection causes increased leucorrhea. Candida albicans has two characteristics: the first is that it has very strong vitality; the second is that it likes moisture. Therefore it is not easy to cure. People who take antibiotics, drugs or adrenal steroids for a long time, as well as pregnant women, diabetics, and women who like to wear tight clothes are more susceptible to infection, and it is not easy to cure once infected.

6. Atrophic vaginitis. A small number of women have lost both ovaries due to illness or have early menopause or are post-menopausal women. Due to the gradual lack of estrogen in the body, the vaginal wall gradually becomes fragile and susceptible to bacterial infection and inflammation, leading to increased leucorrhea. It is also possible that increased vaginal discharge may occur at a young age due to vaginal atrophy and inflammation.

7. Foreign objects have entered the reproductive organs. There are gauze, tampons, menstrual plugs, etc. in the vagina. Some women have contraceptive devices placed in their uterus because it is not suitable for some reason. All of these will stimulate the reproductive organs and increase the amount of leucorrhea.
