What to do about postpartum enuresis?

Women experience enuresis after giving birth, which is clinically called postpartum urinary incontinence. In fact, this phenomenon is not uncommon in postpartum women. It is closely related to the damage suffered by women during childbirth. For example, the process of childbirth can cause women's hepatic muscles to relax or atrophy, and then urinary incontinence occurs. Postpartum women with urinary incontinence should first adjust their emotions. They can adopt many health care methods, and there are also the following solutions.

What to do about postpartum enuresis?

1. Kegel exercises

Kegel exercises are very suitable for women after childbirth. Performing such exercises as early as possible can help women restore the vitality of their pelvic muscles and avoid the embarrassing situation of urinary incontinence.

(1) Stand on tiptoes and contract your buttocks muscles to tighten your anal muscles. Hold for five seconds and then repeat. It is best to exercise continuously for more than twenty times.

(2) Lie down with your legs bent, and contract your buttocks muscles to achieve the purpose of anal contraction. Maintain high tension and perform the action of holding urine. First, contract the pelvic floor muscles for five seconds, and then gradually relax. Rest for five to ten seconds, then repeat the above steps. During the entire exercise, women's breathing is normal and their abdomen is relatively relaxed without any tightness.

2. Dual-channel electrical stimulation therapy for urinary incontinence

Electrical stimulation is effective in treating various types of urinary incontinence. Electrical stimulation therapy is effective for both stress and urge incontinence. There are certain differences in the effects of electrical stimulation of different intensities. Electrical stimulation therapy is mainly used to strengthen the contraction strength of the pelvic muscles, mainly by reducing the sensitivity of the bladder detrusor muscle to increase the bladder capacity.

3. Extracorporeal magnetic resonance therapy

With this method, women can receive treatment simply by sitting in a treatment chair. This therapy uses a high-density magnetic field to relax the pelvic muscles, thereby deeply treating the patient's urinary incontinence symptoms. When patients choose this treatment, they need to strictly follow the treatment course and treatment time set by the doctor. Doctors generally choose "bladder autonomic nerve therapy device" to treat patients. Each treatment lasts about twenty minutes, and patients can receive two treatments a week. A complete course of treatment is twelve weeks.

4. Lifestyle conditioning

First of all, we need to correct the wrong idea. Some women will deliberately reduce their water intake after suffering from urinary incontinence, which is not advisable. Because the human body needs to replenish a certain amount of water every day, if it is deliberately reduced, it will have adverse effects on certain functions of the body. Additionally, when women drink less water, their urine volume decreases, but their urine becomes more concentrated. At this time, patients are more susceptible to bacterial infections, so women with postpartum urinary incontinence should not deliberately reduce their water intake.

It should be noted that women should not consume too much water within two hours before going to bed to reduce the possibility of dripping urine. In addition, mothers should try not to drink diuretic beverages such as coffee, tea, etc.
