Can moxibustion cure cervical polyps?

Can moxibustion cure cervical polyps?

In our lives, many people choose moxibustion when treating diseases, because moxibustion is particularly comfortable and can treat various difficult and complicated diseases. Cervical polyps are a common gynecological disease. Most women are afraid of surgery after cervical polyps, because sometimes the whole uterus needs to be removed if the operation fails. So can moxibustion treat cervical polyps?

There are 2 types of cervicitis, acute and chronic. Chronic cervicitis is often caused by the invasion of pathogens after childbirth, abortion or surgical injury to the cervix. Acute cervicitis is mostly caused by pathogen infection. The symptoms of cervicitis are generally as follows: Acute cervicitis is mainly manifested by: increased leucorrhea, which is purulent, accompanied by low back pain and lower abdominal discomfort. The main symptoms of chronic cervicitis are: excessive vaginal discharge, which is milky white, mucous or contains blood, or bleeding during sexual intercourse, accompanied by vulvar itching, lumbosacral pain, and aggravation during menstruation.

Moxibustion for cervicitis

Moxibustion is useful in treating cervicitis. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that cervicitis is caused by cold and dampness entering the body, which leads to blockage of Qi and blood, and accumulation in the cervix, causing inflammation. Treatment requires targeted measures such as warming the uterus, activating blood circulation, and unblocking meridians to improve the internal environment where inflammation exists.

The acupoints selected for moxibustion are Guanyuan, uterus, Baliao and Sanyinjiao. Moxibustion itself has the property of pure yang and promoting menstruation. It is most suitable for treating gynecological cold and dampness, so the effect is very significant. During treatment, you can use a moxibustion box, preferably one with multiple holes, because except for Sanyinjiao, all of these acupoints are located in the abdomen and lower back, that is, near the uterus, covering a larger area. Using a moxibustion box will increase the heated area and enhance the treatment effect. Sanyinjiao can be moxibustioned with moxa sticks alone. The moxibustion time should be more than one hour every day, otherwise it will not achieve the ideal effect.

Patients with cervicitis need to pay attention to:

1. Avoid eating overly sweet and greasy foods, such as candy, cream cake, eight-treasure rice, glutinous rice cake, lard and fatty pork, mutton fat, and egg yolk. These foods have a dampness-promoting effect, which will reduce the treatment effect and make the disease protracted and difficult to treat. Therefore, patients with cervicitis cannot eat sweet and greasy food.

2. Perform regular gynecological examinations to detect cervical inflammation early and provide treatment.

3. Maintain personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, do not use unclean bathing utensils, and avoid using other people’s towels, soap, etc.

Using moxibustion to treat cervicitis is very convenient and effective. It does not require injections, medication, or surgery, and you can self-treat at home.
