What to do if you have hemorrhoids during the confinement period

Sitting in confinement after childbirth is a physical conditioning process that most mothers will experience. During the confinement period, many doctors will advise mothers to avoid getting out of bed and even reduce the frequency of bathing to avoid catching a cold. However, long-term bed rest is also prone to the possibility of hemorrhoids, accompanied by strong pain. During the confinement period, many drugs should be prohibited for mothers. So what should you do if you get hemorrhoids during the confinement period?

What should I do if a mother gets hemorrhoids during confinement?

1. Diet adjustment

Some mothers may suffer from constipation and hemorrhoids due to bad eating habits during the confinement period, such as eating too much meat and too little vegetables, or eating too much spicy food. In this case, the mother needs to adjust her diet in time and eat more foods rich in dietary fiber, such as more fresh fruits, vegetables and grains, and drink more water, so that hemorrhoids can be effectively relieved.

2. Exercise and conditioning

If a mother suffers from hemorrhoids during the confinement period, it can be relieved through appropriate exercise, such as levator ani exercises. The method is: lift the anal sphincter upwards, inhale and retract the navel, then relax the anal sphincter, and then exhale to restore everything. Repeat this 30 times each time, once in the morning and once in the evening. Proper exercise can improve muscle strength, thus helping to prevent and treat hemorrhoids.

3. Drug treatment

If the postpartum mother's hemorrhoids are severe, she can use medication under the guidance of a doctor for effective treatment and relief. If the hemorrhoids are severe enough that fistulas appear, timely surgical treatment is required. It is generally not recommended for mothers to take medication at will, because the indiscriminate use of medication during the postpartum recovery period can cause great harm to the body. Therefore, it is best to consult a doctor before taking medication during the confinement period.

4. Keep your anus clean

During the confinement period, mothers should pay special attention to personal hygiene. For mothers with hemorrhoids, they should also pay special attention to the cleanliness of the anus. They should change their underwear and wash their bodies frequently. Good anal hygiene also plays an important role in relieving hemorrhoids.
