How long does it take to bleed after cervical polyps

There are many gynecological diseases in our lives. One of the more common gynecological diseases is cervical polyps. This gynecological disease is more serious because it not only affects women's normal sexual life, but also easily affects women's pregnancy function. When women have their period, they will also feel uncomfortable and have stomach pain. So how long will it take to bleed after cervical polyps?

Although cervical polyps are a relatively common gynecological disease, they are small in size and may not cause any symptoms. They are often only discovered during post-pregnancy checkups. So will cervical polyps affect the fetus? In fact, cervical polyps do have a certain impact on childbirth. For women who are not pregnant, it is best to treat it before getting pregnant. If you are pregnant, it should be removed within one month before delivery, otherwise it may be detrimental to delivery.

With the continuous development of medicine, the methods of treating this disease have also made great progress. Surgery is the fastest way to treat this disease. Most people will experience bleeding after surgery. So how long does bleeding last after cervical polyp surgery? It depends on your situation, but it is generally within two weeks.

Bleeding after cervical polyp surgery is caused by the wound formed on the cervix during the surgery. As healing progresses, the bleeding will gradually improve. The scab shedding and bleeding period will last for 7 to 14 days after cervical polyp surgery, and the amount of bleeding will be heavier. If there is only a small amount of vaginal bleeding, no treatment is required, and it will stop on its own in 4 to 6 days. If the bleeding gradually decreases, the blood color is normal, and there is no accompanying discomfort, there is no need to worry too much, as it is a normal phenomenon.

After cervical polyp surgery, pay attention to the following points:

1. Pay attention to rest, avoid prolonged acne, avoid spicy, irritating and overly cold food, avoid strenuous exercise, strengthen nutrition and enhance immunity. It is best not to have sex before menstruation to avoid genital inflammation and infection.

2. Sexual intercourse should be prohibited 3 days before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery, otherwise, ascending infection may occur, leading to endometritis.

3. Pay attention to hygiene: After the polyp is removed, the cervical wound will be gradually covered by new cell tissue and then return to normal. During this period, the patient must abstain from sex to prevent semen and sexual intercourse from stimulating the cervical wound and causing poor healing. To prevent infection, patients are advised to rinse the vulva with clean water every day and change underwear frequently to prevent bacteria from entering the vagina.

4. Pay attention to a light and nutritious diet: After surgery, patients can choose some foods that are easy to digest and rich in vitamins, such as tomatoes, apples, etc. However, spicy, irritating, greasy, and high-sugar foods are not conducive to wound healing, so patients are advised to eat less or no food.

5. Pay attention to taking medicine on time and have regular check-ups: Patients should take anti-infective drugs as required by the doctor and should not stop taking the drugs or increase or decrease the dosage at will. In view of the high chance of recurrence of this disease, it is best for patients to have a check-up every 2 months to reduce subsequent effects.

6. Regular review.
