Many women feel some discomfort in their bodies after giving birth, which is normal. Some women may also experience problems such as vaginal relaxation. Such conditions may be caused by damage to the pelvic repair. Therefore, some women have heard that they must pay attention to pelvic floor muscle repair after giving birth, but in fact they do not know what pelvic floor muscle repair is. So what does pelvic repair mean? 1. Pelvic repair refers to the closed pelvic floor muscle group, namely the pelvic floor muscles. This muscle group is like a "hanging net", and the urethra, bladder, vagina, uterus, duodenum and other internal organs are firmly suspended by this "net", thereby maintaining their normal positions in order to perform their functions. The pelvic floor muscles are like a spring, connecting the toes, coccyx, etc. 2. Once the elasticity of this "net" becomes poor and the "hanging force" is insufficient, the organs in the "net" will not be able to remain in their normal positions, leading to corresponding functional problems such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Involuntary leakage of urine when abdominal pressure increases (such as coughing, sneezing, laughing) is a manifestation of stress urinary incontinence. Frequent urination will make the underwear have a pungent smell that has not been washed away. In more serious cases, sanitary napkins may be needed, which will cause great trouble to daily life. Insufficient "lifting force" may also manifest as prolapse of pelvic organs (uterine prolapse, protrusion of the anterior/posterior wall of the vagina) and fecal incontinence. It often happens that middle-aged and elderly people go to the hospital for treatment because they find lumps and swellings in their private parts. However, because medical treatment is sought too late and the degree of prolapse is serious, the opportunity for early rehabilitation is often missed and surgery is forced to be performed. 3. The pelvic body is a network of muscles, tendons and tissues that spans the pelvis. Its main job is to support your pelvic organs, including your uterus, vagina, bladder, and stomach. The pelvis provides passage for the urethra, vagina, and anus. During pregnancy and childbirth, the muscles of the pelvis will be stretched. The weight of your baby, the hormones that relax your tissues, and the effort of production all contribute to stress in this part of your body. If your pelvis is weakened or damaged, you may have urinary incontinence (stress incontinence) and, more rarely, fecal incontinence. Daily pelvic floor exercises can help you keep your bladder and bowel movements under control after your baby is born. Having a good pelvic floor can also enhance the sensation in the vagina and make sexual life more satisfying. |
