What to eat when the corpus luteum is low

Progesterone is an important substance in the human body, and corpus luteum function is also very important for women. If the corpus luteum function is insufficient, it can easily lead to infertility symptoms in women, or cause women to seek miscarriage first or have habitual miscarriage, causing greater physical harm to women's bodies. So, what can be eaten to improve luteal insufficiency?

1. The impact of luteal insufficiency

Luteal insufficiency refers to the failure of the corpus luteum to fully form after ovulation, resulting in insufficient secretion of progesterone, which makes the endometrium unable to be transformed in time, and is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. It can easily cause poor implantation, infertility or habitual miscarriage in women.

2. The role of progesterone

1. In the second half of the menstrual cycle, it promotes the growth of endometrial glands, uterine congestion, and endometrial thickening to prepare for the implantation of the fertilized egg. It also reduces the excitability of the uterus during pregnancy, inhibits its activity, relaxes smooth muscles, and allows the embryo to grow safely.

2. Working together with estrogen, it promotes the development of mammary lobules and glands, allowing the breasts to fully develop and prepare for lactation.

3. It closes the cervix, reduces and thickens the mucus, and makes it difficult for sperm to penetrate; in large doses, it has a negative feedback effect on the hypothalamus, inhibiting the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin and producing an ovulation-inhibiting effect.

4. After ovulation, based on the action of hormones, the endometrium continues to thicken and become congested, the glands proliferate and branch, and the proliferative phase turns into the secretory phase, which is beneficial to the implantation of the fertilized egg and the development of the embryo.

5. Inhibit uterine contractions and reduce the uterus' sensitivity to oxytocin, allowing the fetus to grow safely.

6. Competitively antagonizes aldosterone, thereby promoting the excretion of Na and Cl and causing diuresis.

7. Progesterone has a slight effect of increasing body temperature in normal women, so the basal body temperature in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle is higher than that in the follicular phase.

3. What to eat for luteal insufficiency

1. Black bean glutinous rice porridge

It is a dietary therapy for luteal insufficiency. Ingredients: 30 grams of black beans and 60 grams of glutinous rice

Method: Wash the black bean glutinous rice, put it into the pot, then add some appropriate amount of water and cook it into porridge over low heat. It is best to take some every day.

2. Pregnancy Soup

Take it on the first day of menstruation and only once during one menstrual cycle. Ingredients: 15g honeysuckle, 10 red dates, 50g angelica, a handful of black beans, 2 taels of brown sugar,

3 to 5 eggs. Preparation method: First, wrap the angelica and honeysuckle with gauze and put them in a pot together with other foods and boil them like medicine. Cook until the soup is enough for a bowl. When taking it, drink up the soup, and also eat all the red dates, black beans, and eggs. Patients must remember to start taking the medicine on the first day of menstruation. This must be done to ensure effectiveness. When cooking, wash the eggs, crack the eggshells after boiling for a while, and then cook them like tea eggs until the soup is reduced to a bowl.

3. Black beans

Take 6 days after the end of menstruation. Can supplement estrogen. Soak some black beans in clean water for about 12 hours, and then cook them until cooked. You can add a little salt or nothing at all. Starting from the first day after the end of menstruation, take it with rice according to the amount you eat every day for 6 consecutive days.
