Do cervical fibroids require surgery?

We all know that uterine fibroids are very common among women, especially for those who do not take good care of themselves in their daily lives and often have miscarriages. Because abortion itself is very harmful to the female uterus, if it happens frequently, it will inevitably cause uterine fibroids. After suffering from uterine fibroids, most patients need surgery to remove them. So, is surgery necessary for uterine fibroids?

First of all, there must be symptoms. If the fibroid is two or three centimeters and does not affect menstruation, you can ignore it. Second, we generally define that fibroids larger than five centimeters may require surgery.

But the situation is different in different parts. If it is a submucosal fibroid, surgery may be required if it is only one centimeter. The difference between intramural fibroids and subserosal fibroids depends on individual differences. If the patient is young, has no immediate desire to have children, and the fibroids are four or five centimeters in size and do not cause obvious symptoms, the patient can be observed for six months to a year to see if there are any changes. Because the recurrence rate of uterine fibroids is very high, we try not to deal with it too early. If you are planning to get pregnant and have a 5-centimeter fibroid and are not too old (under 30 years old), it is recommended that you use contraception for a period of time after the operation before getting pregnant. This is safer.

Because a five-centimeter fibroid may affect the pregnancy process, such as the fibroid enlargement and degeneration, causing miscarriage or premature birth. Therefore, it is generally recommended that young patients be more proactive and have the myoma removed before getting pregnant. However, if the patient is already thirty-five or thirty-six years old and particularly wants to get pregnant, and the fibroids are four or five centimeters in size and do not affect the morphology of the uterine cavity, then the fibroids can be left alone. There are also some fibroids, especially intramural fibroids, which may not require surgery as the patient reaches menopause and the fibroids gradually shrink. If the fibroids continue to grow after menopause, it is not recommended that she keep the uterus because the chances of malignancy are higher in this case. For cervical fibroids, if the fibroids grow larger, the operation will become more difficult and there will be more complications, so removal is recommended.

!Cervical fibroids that are 5 cm in size do not require surgery. Non-surgical interventional treatments that preserve the uterus can be used, which can also achieve the effect of curing the fibroids. This method uses fine needle puncture under ultrasound guidance, which can stop the growth of fibroids, significantly shrink them, and eventually cause them to become fibrotic. To achieve the goal of clinical cure. It is safe and painless, does not damage normal uterine tissue, has no side effects, and does not require hospitalization. If the treatment is continued until after menopause, the fibroids will further shrink naturally. There is no need to worry about other changes in fibroids, because most fibroids are benign tumors and will not cause much harm to the human body as long as their growth can be controlled. Currently, interventional therapy under ultrasound is a more reasonable and humane treatment method.
