What should I pay attention to after the ring

If you do not pay attention to your sexual life after becoming pregnant, it is likely that another child will be born while the current child is still very young and needs breast milk. Therefore, it is very necessary for women to have an IUD inserted. However, after having the IUD inserted, you should pay more attention to your vaginal hygiene and clean your lower body in time. Also, it is best not to have sex during this period, otherwise it will easily lead to vaginal bleeding.

Make sure to get enough rest after the IUD is inserted. A small amount of vaginal bleeding and increased leucorrhea may occur in the first three days, but they will disappear on their own and do not require any treatment. Keep the vulva clean after the operation and avoid sexual intercourse and sitting baths within two weeks to avoid infection.

Get adequate rest and avoid excessive physical labor. Generally, you should rest for 1-2 days after the ring is placed. Do not do heavy physical labor within a week to avoid the ring falling off and bleeding. Pay attention to hygiene and avoid infection. After the IUD is placed, the vulva should be washed every day to keep it clean. Do not take a bath in a basin within 2 weeks and do not have sexual intercourse within 2 weeks to avoid infection. Watch for vaginal bleeding and loss of the ring. If you find that your vaginal bleeding is heavy, more than twice the normal menstrual blood volume or the bleeding lasts longer, or the changes in your menstrual cycle are obvious, you should go for a check-up in time. During the first 3 months, you should also pay attention to whether the ring falls off.

Regular check-ups should be conducted one month, six months, and one year after the operation, and then once a year thereafter to check for any shedding or dislocation. If you find any abnormal phenomenon, please consult a doctor in time.

Pay attention to personal hygiene to avoid infection. You cannot have sex within 3 weeks after the IUD is inserted to avoid it falling off or other situations. Also, you cannot take a bath within 2 weeks, but it is okay to take a light scrub. Pay attention to observe various abnormal conditions after the IUD is inserted, such as: a significant increase in menstrual volume, a significant extension of the menstrual period or frequent small amounts of bleeding, as well as severe back pain and abdominal pain, etc. These are not normal phenomena and you should seek medical attention immediately if they occur.

The following points should be noted after the ring is inserted:

1. It is strictly forbidden to participate in heavy physical labor within one week after the IUD is inserted.

2. Avoid sexual intercourse within three weeks.

3. Avoid underwater work and jumping exercises, such as track and field sports, water sports, and fast-paced dancing within five weeks.

4. Please note that you should take full rest within 3 days after the IUD is inserted, and it is best to rest in bed.

5. Avoid bathing in a tub within 4 weeks to prevent vaginal infection. However, showers and sponge baths are available.

6. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva to prevent infection.

7. Pay close attention to whether the ring falls off during menstruation or bowel movements within six months. It is best to go to a gynecological hospital for an X-ray observation of the ring once a year.

8. Pay attention to menstrual regularity and seek treatment from a gynecologist if necessary.

9. Pay attention to nutrition and eat more iron-containing foods to prevent anemia caused by excessive menstrual blood.

10. It is normal to experience lower abdominal discomfort within 3 to 6 months after the IUD is inserted.

11. If you still experience a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, back pain, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, or menstrual blood volume that is twice the normal amount after 7 months of IUD insertion, you should see a doctor. If there is no improvement, the IUD should be removed and other contraceptive methods should be used instead.
