Why is my period painful?

Why is my period painful?

Menstruation is a physiological reaction that every woman experiences every month. If the menstruation does not come that month, then women need to consider the reason. Sometimes some women feel that the menstruation comes on time but is very painful, which is referred to as dysmenorrhea. In real life, there are two causes of dysmenorrhea. One is primary dysmenorrhea, which is mainly caused by the reproductive organs themselves, and the other is secondary dysmenorrhea, which is caused by some vaginal diseases. Regardless of the cause, people with dysmenorrhea need to solve it in a timely manner.

It is not suitable to have sexual intercourse: During menstruation, the endometrium is peeled off and a wound is formed on the surface. If sexual intercourse occurs, it is easy for bacteria to be introduced and move retrogradely into the uterine cavity, causing intrauterine infection.

It is not suitable to eat too salty food: too salty food will increase the salt and water retention in the body. Before menstruation, it is easy to have symptoms such as headache, emotional excitement and irritability.

It is not suitable to drink strong tea or coffee: these beverages contain high caffeine content, which can easily stimulate the nerves and cardiovascular system, leading to uncomfortable symptoms such as menstrual pain, prolonged menstruation and excessive menstrual bleeding.

It is not advisable to eat raw and cold vegetables and fruits and cold drinks: raw and cold food will slow down the blood circulation, thereby affecting the contraction of the uterus and the discharge of menstrual blood, causing adverse discharge of menstrual blood and causing menstrual pain.

It is not advisable to eat seafood: Most seafood is cold in nature, known as the "yang in yin". When you are physically weak, you should eat less or no seafood. After cold food enters the esophagus, the blood vessels in the gastrointestinal tract are contracted due to the cold, which weakens the gastrointestinal digestive ability and leads to diarrhea and other phenomena. Therefore, women should not eat seafood during menstruation.

It is not advisable to take a sitz bath or a tub bath: during menstruation, the cervix is slightly open, and sitz baths and tub baths can easily allow sewage to enter the uterine cavity and cause inflammation.

It is not advisable to wear tight clothes: tight pants with small hip circumference will put pressure on local micro-capillaries, thereby affecting blood circulation and causing congestion and edema in the genitals.

It is not advisable to sing loudly: During the menstrual period, the respiratory mucosa and vocal cords are congested. Singing or talking loudly can easily fatigue the vocal cord muscles and cause hoarseness.

Do not beat your back excessively: Although back pain and other symptoms are common during menstruation, you should not beat your back at will, as this will further cause congestion in the pelvic cavity, leading to excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation.

Menstrual pain treatment methods

Keep a happy spirit and avoid mental stimulation and mood swings. Some people may experience lower abdominal distension, back pain, breast tenderness, mild diarrhea, fatigue, drowsiness, emotional instability, irritability or depression during the menstrual period. These are all normal and there is no need to be overly nervous.

Underwear should be soft, cotton, and well ventilated and breathable. It should be washed and changed frequently, and the changed underwear should be dried in the sun.

During menstruation, it is generally recommended to eat some bananas, oranges, durian, ginseng fruit, guava and other fruits. You can eat three kinds of them alternately in the morning, noon and evening. However, if you are a woman who suffers from menstrual cramps, it is recommended that you eat less apples. Women with better physical conditions can also eat fruits such as apples and pears.

Keep warm and avoid cold stimulation. Avoid overwork. Pay attention to hygiene and prevent infection. First, pay attention to the hygiene of the external genitalia. You should never have sexual intercourse during menstruation. When the flow is heavy, you should change sanitary napkins frequently. You can also choose sanitary napkins on the market that are designed for heavy flow.

Avoid eating raw, cold, spicy or other irritating foods. Drink more water to keep your bowel movements smooth. People with hot blood should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables before menstruation, and avoid eating foods that stimulate fire such as onions, garlic, leeks, and ginger; people with qi and blood deficiency must increase nutrition on a regular basis, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, pork liver, spinach, pork, chicken, lamb, etc. Avoid eating raw or cold fruits and vegetables. People with heavy menstrual bleeding should avoid eating brown sugar.

Precautions

1 The diseases indicated by dysmenorrhea can be roughly divided into the following categories:

2 Low back pain during menstruation may be caused by retroverted uterus or other diseases.

3 Fever and lower abdominal pain during menstruation may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease.

4 Normal menstrual blood is dark red. If the color of menstrual blood is light brown, or the odor changes, and the body temperature rises and lower abdominal pain occurs, you may have endometritis.

5 If your dysmenorrhea becomes more severe and lasts longer, you may have endometriosis.
