Symptoms of urinary incontinence in women

Symptoms of urinary incontinence in women

Urinary incontinence is a manifestation of renal dysfunction. When many people reach old age, their brains cannot command the body and cannot control the nerves properly, so they are likely to suffer from urinary incontinence. Most women with urinary incontinence have reduced urethral sphincter closure ability and decreased kidney function. So what symptoms will women have when they have urinary incontinence? Let’s take a look below.

1. Large amounts of residual urine

It can cause stress incontinence or overflow incontinence. The principle of treatment for this type of urinary incontinence is to use surgery (bladder neck or external urethral sphincter incision) to reduce urethral resistance to reduce residual urine.

2. Detrusor hyperreflexia or unstable bladder

It can cause urge or reflex incontinence and sometimes cough urge incontinence. The principle of treatment is to inhibit the uninhibited contractions of the bladder with drugs (such as verapamil), sacral nerve blocks, sacral nerve surgery or bladder nerve stripping.

3. Insufficient sphincter function

For this type of patient with residual urine, the principle of treatment is to increase urethral resistance through drugs or surgery. Patients with non-resistance urinary incontinence may be treated with an artificial urinary sphincter device, urethral lengthening, urethral clamps (in women), or penile clamps.

Urinary Incontinence Remedies

1: Take 2 fresh eggs, 20 grams of wolfberry, and 4 dates. Put them in a casserole, add water and boil. After the eggs are cooked, peel them, put them back in and cook for a while, then eat the eggs and drink the soup. Take it once every other day for 3 times in a row to achieve significant results.

Note: This prescription is suitable for urinary incontinence caused by kidney deficiency in the elderly.

2: Urinary incontinence (urinary urgency, uncontrollable): Take a pair of chicken intestines, wash and dry them, fry them until they turn yellow, grind them into powder, and take them with rice wine, 1 qian each time, three times a day, and you will be cured after taking them. Avoid ginger and spicy food.

3: Folk remedy for urinary incontinence in the elderly: The specific method is simple and convenient: boil the Chinese medicine Angelica dahurica into soup, drink it three times a day, and drink it regularly to cure the disease.

4: Wash 1 pig bladder, put an appropriate amount of rice in it (enough to eat it in one go), tie the mouth with white thread, and steam it. Eat without adding salt or any other seasoning. Treat urinary incontinence in the elderly.

5: Dog meat stewed with black beans 200 grams of dog meat, 100 grams of black beans. Add water and stew until cooked, eat the meat and drink the soup, take once. Take 1 dose daily to treat urinary incontinence in adults.

There are many treatments for urinary incontinence, as you can see from the introduction above. Conventional treatments are not very effective for urinary incontinence, so many people tend to pursue some folk remedies for treating urinary incontinence. The folk remedies for urinary incontinence introduced above are still very good in the treatment of urinary incontinence, so you can try them in the future, you may get unexpected results.

1. Urge urinary incontinence

This type of incontinence includes bladder instability, detrusor hyperreflexia, bladder spasm, and neurogenic bladder (uninhibited bladder), where incontinence is related to uncontrolled detrusor contractions.

2. Stress urinary incontinence

Involuntary urine leakage occurs when the intra-abdominal pressure rises sharply during body movements such as coughing, sneezing, jolts or lifting heavy objects. Urinary incontinence occurs when the intra-bladder pressure rises above the urethral resistance without detrusor contraction. The defect in stress urinary incontinence is in the bladder outlet tract (sphincteric insufficiency), resulting in insufficient urethral resistance to prevent urine leakage.

3. Overflow incontinence

Overflow incontinence occurs when the pressure of a chronically filled bladder exceeds urethral resistance. The cause may be a tone-less (uncontractable) bladder or functional or mechanical obstruction of the bladder outlet tract. A tone-less bladder is often caused by spinal cord trauma or diabetes. Bladder outlet obstruction in elderly patients is often caused by fecal impaction. About 50% of patients with constipation have urinary incontinence. Other causes of outlet obstruction include prostate hyperplasia, prostate cancer, and bladder sphincter dysfunction. Some individual cases are caused by psychogenic urinary retention.

4. Functional urinary incontinence

The patient can feel that the bladder is full, but due to physical movement, mental state and environmental reasons, he cannot help but urinate or urinate intentionally.

Urinary incontinence in the elderly means that urine in the bladder cannot be controlled and flows out on its own. Urinary incontinence can occur in patients of all age groups, but it is more common in the elderly. Because urinary incontinence is more common in the elderly, people mistakenly believe that urinary incontinence is an inevitable natural consequence of the aging process. In fact, there are many reasons for urinary incontinence in the elderly. We should look for various reasons and adopt reasonable treatment methods.

1. Central nervous system diseases

Such as neurogenic bladder caused by cerebrovascular accident, brain atrophy, brain and spinal cord tumors, lateral sclerosis, etc.

2. Surgery

Such as prostatectomy, bladder neck surgery, radical resection of rectal cancer, radical resection of cervical cancer, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery, etc., which damage the motor or sensory nerves of the bladder and sphincter.

3. Urinary retention

Urinary retention caused by prostatic hyperplasia, bladder neck contracture, urethral stenosis, etc.

4. Unstable bladder

Unstable bladder is caused by bladder tumors, stones, inflammation, foreign bodies, etc.

5. Women after menopause

Estrogen deficiency causes loss of tone in the urethral wall and pelvic floor muscles.

6. Delivery Injury

Weak sphincter caused by uterine prolapse, cystocele, etc. Function reduction

1. Positive attitude Take a positive attitude, face the problem, don’t avoid it, and seek medical treatment as soon as possible to find the cause. Learn how to deal with negative emotions. Remind yourself that incontinence is a health problem and not something wrong or shameful.

2. Pelvic floor muscle training can strengthen the contraction and control of the pelvic floor muscles through exercise, prevent urine from leaking out, and improve incontinence. If you want to know how to train your pelvic floor muscles, you can consult your medical staff.

3. Drug treatments mainly include drugs for treating urinary tract infections and incontinence. They must be prescribed by a doctor according to the situation. Do not buy and use them at will.
