There are some differences between female buttocks and male buttocks. Female buttocks will become larger due to the expansion of the pelvis, which is a normal phenomenon caused by childbirth. Female buttocks that have not given birth are also rounder and look more conspicuous on the body. However, diseases of female buttocks are also very common and have a great impact on women's lives. For example, why do women have pain in their buttocks? The gluteus maximus is the largest and most superficial muscle in the buttocks, covering most of the buttocks. It originates from the upper inner edge of the iliac wing, the back of the sacrum, the erector spinae aponeurosis, and the sacrotuberous ligament. Inserts on the iliotibial band and gluteal tuberosity of the femur. The function is to extend and externally rotate the hip joint. The first trigger point of the gluteus maximus is located on the lower and lateral side of the sacrum. The referred pain is concentrated on the lateral edge of the sacrum and the lateral edge of the mid-gluteal seam, and diffuses to the lower buttocks and upper thigh. The second trigger point of the gluteus maximus is located at the tip of the buttocks (midpoint of the buttock crease), and the referred pain spreads throughout the buttocks. With gluteus maximus trigger points, patients experience pain in the buttocks when walking uphill, especially when bending forward. If the pain is close to the ischial tuberosity, it will cause pain in the patient's sitting position and the patient will only dare to sit with half of his buttocks. When the gluteus maximus is too tense, the knee cannot be pulled to the chest when lying on the back, and the toes cannot be touched when bending over. Etiology and pathology: People who stand for long periods of time are prone to gluteus maximus strain. People who often sit for long periods of time often have their gluteus maximus in a tense state, which can easily cause gluteus maximus damage due to local blood circulation disorders. Muscle damage due to falls, collisions, etc.
1. Buttock pain and swelling: This is a manifestation of the early stage of injury, such as gluteal muscle trauma or early stage of injection. The patient will feel pain and feel a lump. The swelling is obviously tender, but after the acute phase, the pain may gradually decrease or disappear. 2. Abnormal sitting posture: The knees are separated and cannot be brought together. 3. Hip snapping: When the hip joint is flexed and extended, a snapping sound is produced by a cable sliding across the greater trochanter of the femur. 4. Abnormal standing posture: When standing, the lower limbs cannot be completely brought together and are slightly externally rotated. Due to contracture of the upper gluteal muscles, the muscle volume becomes smaller, making the buttocks appear relatively pointed, which is called "pointed buttocks syndrome." 5. Buttocks lump: The buttocks may have a contracture band that is consistent with the shape of the gluteus maximus, which is generally 20~70mm wide and is more obvious when the hip joint is adducted and internally rotated. |
