Stomach pain after abortion

Stomach pain after abortion

Every adult woman is familiar with artificial abortion. They will choose to have an artificial abortion due to accidental pregnancy or some bad living habits that cause fetal deformities. Although artificial abortion is relatively simple to operate, it will cause great harm to women's bodies and cause stomach pain. Generally, you need to rest after an artificial abortion, eat some fresh and light food, and avoid cold food.

Question 1

Symptoms and signs:

Although artificial abortion is simple to perform, the uterus is rich in blood vessels and becomes soft during pregnancy. If the operator is not careful, abnormal conditions may occur, causing pain or even accidents to the patient.

1. Bleeding: Intraoperative bleeding often occurs in those who are older in pregnancy. Because the placenta area is large, but the selected straw is small, the negative pressure is insufficient, and the placenta and fetal components cannot be removed quickly. The uterus cannot contract well to stop bleeding, so it is easy to cause bleeding. At this time, the placental tissue and uterine cavity contents should be removed as soon as possible, and then uterotonic agents should be injected to stop the bleeding.

2. Postoperative residues: If a small amount of villi or decidua remain in the uterine cavity after an artificial abortion, postoperative infection is likely to occur. The symptoms are poor uterine contraction and irregular vaginal bleeding. The bleeding may not stop until 2 weeks after the operation. Sometimes the amount is heavy, or it may be bloody leucorrhea with a foul odor, often accompanied by a slight fever, indicating an infection in the uterine cavity. At this time, you must ask a doctor to check carefully. If villi or decidua are found in the uterine cavity and part of it is blocking the cervical opening, you should immediately disinfect the local area while fighting infection, and then remove the remaining tissue in the cavity. Antibiotics and contraction drugs should be given after the operation. Sometimes, a small amount of decidual tissue remaining in the uterine cavity can easily form endometrial polyps due to chronic inflammation and stimulation from foreign bodies. Its blood supply is connected with that of the uterine wall, causing bleeding. Because polyps can remain in the uterus for a long time, they should be removed under hysteroscopy to completely solve the abnormal uterine bleeding.

3. Missed aspiration: If a pregnant woman still has early pregnancy reactions after an artificial abortion, in addition to the fact that uterine malformations affect the success of the operation, there is often another situation, that is, because the position of the uterus is not good, or the surgeon is timid and fails to aspirate the embryonic tissue, causing the fetus to continue to grow and develop in the uterus. Pregnant women should not have any illusions about this and should go to the hospital for surgery as soon as possible. Because of the trauma of artificial abortion, the fetus is likely to be a disabled baby even if it is delivered at full term, which will bring pain or burden to the child, the family and the country.

5. Abnormal uterus combined with pregnancy: If a pregnant woman still has early pregnancy symptoms after an artificial abortion, and can feel a lump in her abdomen that is gradually getting bigger, she should go to the hospital. If the urine pregnancy test is positive and B-ultrasound confirms the presence of a fetus and fetal heartbeat, it is often because the pregnant woman has a uterine malformation, such as a double uterus or a septate uterus. During the operation, only one side of the uterine cavity is aspirated, while the fetus in the other side of the uterine cavity continues to grow and develop. In this case, the pregnant woman should be hospitalized and have an artificial abortion in the other side of the uterine cavity.
