What are the methods of female sterilization?

At present, there are various methods of sterilization, such as abdominal sterilization, medical sterilization, vaginal sterilization, etc. The so-called sterilization is to achieve the purpose of sterilization by surgically blocking the meeting of sperm and egg cells, also known as bilateral tubal sterilization. The common method is bilateral tubal sterilization through abdominal ligation or laparoscopic surgery. Let’s take a look at the methods of female sterilization.

1. What are the methods of ligation surgery: Traditional ligation surgery is a surgical treatment method. The incision of this operation is only two to three centimeters, and the ligation is cut with surgical sutures. The advantage is that it is simple and effective, and usually only upper body anesthesia or even local anesthesia is required. No hospitalization is required after the operation and the cost is relatively cheap. The best time for surgery is usually the day after delivery, because the uterus has not contracted and the fallopian tubes are located close to the sides of the belly button. Therefore, surgery can be performed in the depression of the belly button skin, so the wound is less obvious. Of course, ligation surgery can also be performed at normal times, but at this time the location of the fallopian tubes on both sides has returned to the pelvis, and the incision of the ligation surgery will be more obvious. It is also common in clinical medicine to perform ligation surgery at the same time as cesarean section. This type of surgery will not cause any scarring.

2. What are the methods of ligation surgery: Transvaginal ligation surgery. The advantage of this surgical treatment is that there is no scar problem on the abdomen. The surgery is performed under upper body anesthesia and no hospitalization is required after the surgery. However, surgery is more difficult, with more chances of bleeding, infection, and complications. It is also not suitable to be performed after giving birth, so few people choose it.

3. What are the methods of ligation surgery: The small incision method with needle fixation uses a syringe to pierce for infiltration anesthesia. The needle is directed to the membrane below the ejaculatory duct, infiltrating and penetrating at the same time. When the ejaculatory duct is located at the needle tip, use your fingers to pinch the skin and move it downward; use the other hand to push the needle upward, and at the same time, pull the needle out of the skin on the other side to fix the ejaculatory duct. Use the blade to cut the scrotal skin in a vertical row to reach the ejaculatory duct lumen, insert the ejaculatory duct lifting hook into the ejaculatory duct lumen to hook the ejaculatory duct wall, remove the needle, gently lift the ejaculatory duct, and then disperse and ligate the ejaculatory duct.
