What causes vulvar itching and pain

There are many diseases in the human body, and any part of the body may suffer from some diseases, including private parts. For example, the female vulva has many problems, including external itching and pain. This situation can be caused by many reasons, but many people don’t know. So what is the cause of vulvar itching and pain?

Causes of vulvar itching and pain:

1. Special infections: Candida vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common causes of vulvar itching. Pubic lice and scabies can also cause itching. Itching around the anus and vulva of young girls caused by pinworm infection usually occurs at night.

2. Chronic vulvar malnutrition: The main symptom is severe itching, accompanied by whitening of the vulvar skin.

3. Drug allergy or chemical irritation: Soap, condoms, Chlorhexidine, etc. can cause contact or allergic dermatitis due to direct irritation or allergy, resulting in symptoms of vulvar itching.

4. Bad hygiene habits: Not paying attention to the local cleanliness of the vulva, sebum, sweat, menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine and feces can cause long-term stimulation to the vulva and cause itching; using unclean menstrual belts during menstruation and wearing non-breathable synthetic underwear at other times can induce itching due to the accumulation of damp heat.

Symptoms of vulvar itching and pain: Vulvar itching and swelling are mostly located on the clitoris and labia minora. It may also affect the labia majora, perineum and even perianal areas. It is often a paroxysmal attack, but can also be continuous, usually aggravated at night. Unexplained vulvar itching and swelling usually only occurs in women of childbearing age or after menopause, often affecting the entire vulva, but may also be limited to a certain part or one side of the vulva. Although the itching is very severe and even unbearable, the local skin and mucous membranes appear normal, or there are only scratches due to excessive scratching.

Treatment methods for vulvar itching and pain: 1. Vaginal medication: The typical symptoms of candidal vaginitis are unbearable itching of the vulva, excessive vaginal discharge, often with milky white clots, severe congestion of the vaginal wall, and a tingling sensation. Treatment should start with killing the fungus. Commonly used medicines include suppositories, which are inserted deep into the vagina. Go to the hospital for regular check-ups to decide whether to continue taking the medicine.

2. Change the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina: The most suitable pH value for the growth of Candida is 5.5. Therefore, using alkaline solution to flush the vulva and vagina can change the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina, which will inhibit the growth and reproduction of fungi. You can use 2% to 4% baking soda water to flush the vagina 1 to 2 times a day, and one course of treatment is 2 weeks. After flushing, wipe the vulva dry and keep it dry to inhibit the growth of Candida.

3. Treatment with traditional Chinese medicine: Use decoction of traditional Chinese medicine that has the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, killing insects and relieving itching, such as the traditional Chinese medicine Sunv Powder, to fumigate and wash the vulva, which can not only relieve symptoms, but also inhibit and eliminate Candida albicans. Since the itching, pain and burning symptoms of the patient's vulva are significantly alleviated after fumigation, it is more suitable for women with acute candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis, and can relieve the patient's pain. The Chinese medicine Su Nu San is based on the traditional Chinese medicine external treatment fumigation therapy. With the help of medicinal power and heat, it is administered through the skin and mucous membranes to act on the affected area, promoting the unclogging of pores, harmonizing of blood vessels, and smooth flow of qi and blood, expelling the toxic evils of dampness and heat, nourishing blood and yin, and improving the body's immunity of the affected area, thereby achieving the purpose of curing female vulvar itching. Pour the Chinese medicine Su Nu San into a wooden basin, then pour in 3000ml of boiling water, and steam it while it is hot so that the medicinal power can penetrate directly into the vagina. Wait until the medicine is warm before applying it to the affected area. You can also take a sitz bath for 20 minutes each time. The temperature should be appropriate when bathing, so as not to burn the skin. Fumigation and washing should be done once a day, preferably at midnight for the best effect.
