Precautions for pregnancy with rudimentary uterus

Precautions for pregnancy with rudimentary uterus

There are many congenital uterine diseases, such as unicornuate uterus, rudimentary horn uterus, etc. If a woman with a rudimentary horn of the uterus becomes pregnant, accidents are very likely to happen. For example, ectopic pregnancy is caused by a rudimentary horn of the uterus. Therefore, if a woman with a rudimentary horn of the uterus becomes pregnant, there are many things she needs to pay attention to. Do not exercise excessively. If you find your stomach uncomfortable, you must go to the hospital for treatment to avoid accidents that may endanger the health of the pregnant woman and fetus.

Precautions for pregnancy with rudimentary uterine horn:

1. The rudimentary horn of the uterus is a congenital developmental malformation caused by the incomplete development of the accessory mesonephric duct on one side. The rudimentary horn of the uterus often does not communicate with the better-developed uterine cavity on the other side, but is connected to it by a fibrous bundle. Rudimentary horn pregnancy refers to the fertilized egg implanting and growing in the rudimentary horn of the uterus.

2. There are two possible ways of fertilization in uterine rudimentary horn pregnancy: one is that the sperm swims out through the contralateral fallopian tube to the affected fallopian tube and combines with the egg to enter the rudimentary horn; the other is that the fertilized egg swims out through the contralateral fallopian tube to the affected fallopian tube and enters the rudimentary horn for implantation. The rudimentary uterine horn wall is underdeveloped and cannot support the growth and development of the fetus. The rudimentary horn often ruptures spontaneously in the second trimester of pregnancy, causing severe internal bleeding. The symptoms are similar to those of interstitial tubal pregnancy. Occasionally, when a pregnancy reaches full term, uterine contractions may occur during labor, but because vaginal delivery is impossible, the fetus often dies after labor. Type B ultrasound imaging can assist in the diagnosis, and surgery should be performed as soon as possible after the diagnosis is confirmed to remove the rudimentary uterine horn. If the fetus is alive, a cesarean section should be performed first, followed by removal of the rudimentary uterine horn.

A rudimentary horn of the uterus has functional endometrium, but the uterine cavity is not connected to the outside world. Menstrual blood may be retained in the rudimentary horn of the uterus, or it may flow into the abdominal cavity through the fallopian tubes, causing endometriosis. Therefore, if a rudimentary horn of the uterus is found, it should be surgically removed in time to avoid rudimentary horn pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy in the future. If the rudimentary horn of the uterus is solid and has no endometrium, there are generally no clinical manifestations and surgical removal is not necessary. A rudimentary horn of the uterus is a congenital malformation of the female reproductive system. It is rare clinically and often causes patients to suffer from long-term severe dysmenorrhea due to failure to diagnose it in time. If a rudimentary horn pregnancy is not diagnosed in time, it may lead to rupture of the pregnant uterus and endanger the patient's life.
