After ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes white, turbid, viscous and less in quantity. Generally speaking, abnormal leucorrhea is caused by gynecological diseases. Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slight fishy smell or no smell. The white secretion is characterized by being white, thick, and resembling curd or tofu dregs, because it is made up of desquamated epithelial cells and mycelium, yeast, and pseudohyphae. The main cause of this leucorrhea symptom is the imbalance of Candida in the vagina.

Common causes of vaginal candidiasis

1. Diabetic patients are prone to candidal vaginitis because their high blood sugar levels cause the sugar content in the vaginal epithelial cells to be high, making them susceptible to fungal infection.

2. Long-term use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, cortisone hormones or immunosuppressants reduces the body's immunity and causes imbalance of vaginal flora, thereby inducing candidal vaginitis.

3. Wearing tight jeans or non-breathable nylon pants will increase the temperature and humidity of the vulva, or hanging clean underwear in a dark and humid place to dry, which can induce candidal vaginitis.

4. Sharing towels, bathtubs, and bedding with patients suffering from candidal vaginitis may cause cross infection.

5. Having bad sexual habits such as oral or anal sex can bring fungi in the mouth and intestines into the vagina.

6. People who have extramarital sex and have sexual relations with multiple sexual partners are prone to candidal vaginitis.

7. During pregnancy, women's immunity decreases and hormone secretion increases, which can increase the glycogen content in the vaginal epithelium and provide growth conditions for fungi. Therefore, pregnant women are extremely susceptible to infection.

8. Patients with mysophobia repeatedly flush the vagina and vulva, causing an imbalance of normal vaginal flora and leading to candidal vaginitis.
