How to treat dampness in women with moxibustion

I believe everyone is familiar with dampness. Many people suffer from dampness in their bodies to varying degrees. When the body has too much moisture, various physical discomforts will occur, such as acne on the face, itchy skin, bad breath, etc., which seriously affect normal life and work. Especially for women, it is more likely to have heavy dampness. If it is not treated in time, it will have more serious consequences. Among them, moxibustion is to achieve the effect of detoxification and moisture removal by moxibustion on certain acupuncture points of the human body. This article briefly introduces how moxibustion can remove moisture.

Which acupoints should be moxibustioned when dampness is heavy? Which acupoints should be moxibustioned when dampness is heavy:

Quchi Point

Quchi point is the He point of the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, meaning that the pulse energy is at its strongest here when it flows from the extremities, just like water flowing into the sea. Quchi point has the effect of eliminating rheumatism, regulating qi and blood, improving numbness in the hands, chest fullness, and improving peripheral blood circulation. Acupoint location: The outer end of the elbow transverse line when the elbow is flexed. Technique: Use moxa sticks for moxibustion once a day, 10 minutes each time.

Hegu Point

Hegu point is the master switch of the large intestine meridian. There is a saying that "Hegu acupoint is the point where the face is relieved". When there are red blood streaks on the facial skin, you can apply moxibustion on the Hegu acupoint, which has a good relieving effect. Hegu point has the function of raising the clear and lowering the turbid, and promoting the circulation of Qi and blood, but people with poor physical constitution should not be given strong stimulation, and pregnant women should avoid it even more. Acupoint location: The first joint horizontal line of the thumb of one hand is facing the base of the other hand. Bend the thumb and press down to the point where the fingertip points. Technique: The distance between moxibustion and acupoints should be 3-5 cm. Moxibustion should be performed until the acupoints become warm and slightly red. Ten times constitute a course of treatment. Moxibustion should be performed for 10-15 minutes each time, once a day.

Jiexi Point

This point is the place where the water of the stomach meridian disperses. It is the transportation and distribution hub of the water of the stomach meridian. The water that flows back into the stomach meridian from this point can change the fiery nature of the stomach meridian most quickly, so this point belongs to fire. Acupoint location: Jiexi point is located at the concave point of the instep and ankle joint. This acupoint is used to eliminate phlegm and dampness throughout the body, and is very effective in relieving edema of the lower limbs. Technique: Moxibustion on the Jiexi acupoint for 15 minutes every day and persist for a period of time, which can effectively remove dampness.

Zusanli

Zusanli is commonly used today to treat acute and chronic gastroenteritis, duodenal ulcer, gastroptosis, dysentery, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, hepatitis, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, rheumatic fever, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, nephritis, renal colic, cystitis, impotence, spermatorrhea, functional uterine bleeding, pelvic inflammatory disease, shock, insomnia, etc. Acupoint location: Zusanli acupoint is located 3 inches below the outer knee and about one horizontal finger on the outer side of the tibia. Technique: Moxibustion for 10-15 minutes is enough. You need to persist for a period of time and you will soon see the effect of removing dampness.
