What should I do if my episiotomy wound ruptures?

Every mother is very excited and happy after giving birth, but also extremely painful, because the joy is that there is a new life in the family, and the pain is because the pain of childbirth is extremely uncomfortable. Many mothers choose to have a caesarean section, which will leave surgical scars. These wounds can only be healed with careful care. If you are not careful, they will rupture or cause other consequences. Generally speaking, cesarean sections leave episiotomy wounds, but many mothers accidentally cause the wound to split or injure it. So what should you do when the episiotomy wound splits?

1. Reasons

1. Incomplete flushing during suturing can easily lead to infection of the suture layer inside the episiotomy wound, and even suppuration and pustules, which can cause the wound to dehiscence;

2. Suture rejection. The new mother's physique does not absorb sutures. Even if the outer layer of sutures is removed, the rejection of the inner layer of sutures will easily cause the episiotomy wound to rupture. Of course, the doctor's suturing technique and the infection of the instruments induced during the suturing process can also easily cause the episiotomy wound to rupture.

2. What to do if the episiotomy wound ruptures

Once the episiotomy wound splits, it is best to observe the wound first. If there is swelling or suppuration, the wound must be rinsed with saline as soon as possible, and disinfected with iodine or hydrogen peroxide, and then applied with detoxifying ointment to completely remove the pus in the wound. Then, if the patient's episiotomy wound has a neat edge after splitting, it needs to be cleaned and then sutured. If the incision is defective, it is generally not sutured. After thorough anti-inflammatory treatment, you can use golden flower oil and pearl muscle-generating powder to speed up the healing of the wound. A well-healed wound will not reopen.

If there is obvious suture rejection in the wound, the non-absorbable sutures must be disposed of in time and disinfected with iodine or hydrogen peroxide. Then, a detoxifying ointment should be applied to the wound for about 5 days to completely remove the non-absorbable sutures and thus remove foreign matter from the wound. Then, use Golden Flower Oil and Pearl Regenerating Powder to completely heal the wound.

3. Suggestions

If the wound splits again after episiotomy during normal delivery, it generally cannot be sutured for the second time. You need to change the dressing for a period of time, and then decide whether to suture it again depending on the recovery of the wound. Some people can gradually recover by changing the dressing. It is recommended that you pay more attention to rest recently, try to avoid constipation, pay attention to local cleaning, and change the dressing regularly.
