Do women still grow taller after menarche? What should we pay attention to?

Menstruation is a physiological phenomenon unique to women. Generally, the first menstruation occurs during puberty, which is what we call menarche. It is a sign that female sexual function begins to mature and indicates that women have the ability to reproduce. However, women have early menarche, and many people worry that their bodies will stop growing after menarche. Let’s take a look at whether women will still grow taller after menarche?

The second fastest growth period of height for girls (the first rapid growth period is the first year after birth) is about one year before menarche. In the 6 months before and after menarche, the rate of height increase begins to slow down. After menarche, the growth rate slows down significantly, and the average height can still increase by 5-7 cm. Generally, there are few people who grow 10 cm after menarche. Such people can still grow 2-3 cm after getting married and having children, and they are often tall girls. On the other hand, some girls only grow 2 cm after menarche, and they are all short girls.

Note:

First, menarche is an inevitable part of physical development and a sign of puberty. There is no need to worry too much. You should be fully prepared for the discomforts such as low back pain, drowsiness, fatigue, and weakness that may occur during menarche to avoid panic and increase your psychological burden.

Second, you should avoid participating in strenuous sports, long-distance cycling and running, etc. during your menarche, so as to prevent excessive fatigue that may lead to a decrease in resistance and induce diseases such as colds.

Third, you should wash your lower body frequently during menstruation, because the body's resistance decreases during this stage. If you do not pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, it is very easy to cause bacterial infection and fever.

Fourth, strengthen self-protection and use high-quality sanitary napkins. Never use inferior products for the sake of saving money, and never replace them with ordinary toilet paper and straw paper that are not strictly disinfected.
