Why don’t mothers produce milk? Beware of physical weakness

Many women have very little milk after giving birth, which cannot meet the baby's breastfeeding needs, which makes many women very anxious. There are many reasons behind this, it may be caused by malnutrition, it may be caused by women's physical weakness, or it may be caused by illness.

1. Postpartum weakness

If a mother loses too much blood during childbirth and her physical condition is weak, this may result in a lack of milk supply for a long time. At this time, the mother must be allowed to have a good rest. If necessary, she can be given some nutritional injections to allow her to recover as soon as possible and the milk will slowly return.

2. Mammary duct obstruction

If a new mother feels breast enlargement and pain after giving birth, but milk cannot come out, then she should consider the possibility of blocked milk ducts. Ductal abnormalities are usually caused by hair or inflammation in the ducts.

The key to breast duct obstruction is prevention. In order to avoid this situation, it is recommended that expectant mothers should be vigilant during pregnancy. The first thing is not to tie the underwear too tightly and choose underwear made of high-quality pure cotton. Avoid direct skin contact with synthetic clothing, and do not wear woolen clothes directly over underwear; be extra careful when washing underwear, and never wash underwear together with other clothes; before using underwear each time, be sure to carefully brush off the dust, fibers, and feathers on the inside.

3. Start breastfeeding early and suck more

After giving birth to a baby, the new mother should feed the baby as soon as possible. This allows the child to drink the most precious colostrum, and it also stimulates the breasts to secrete breast milk. And let your child suck the nipple frequently to stimulate the mammary glands to secrete milk. The less milk mom has, the more times the baby should suck. Generally speaking, mothers should feed their babies at least 8 times every 24 hours, and each time they should suck on the breast for no less than half an hour. Of course, you should also feed according to your baby's needs. Feed your baby whenever he is hungry. The more you feed him, the more milk he will produce.
