Why is the leucorrhea green? Beware of candidal vaginitis

Many women find that their leucorrhea is green, which obviously means they have candidal vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis has a higher incidence rate among vaginitis. Patients also have symptoms of vulvar itching, burning, and difficulty urinating. Attention should be paid to hygiene.

1. Symptoms

The most common symptoms of candidal infection are excessive leucorrhea, burning and itching of the vulva and vagina, exogenous dysuria, and geographic erythema of the vulva (fungal or candidal vulvovaginitis). The typical leucorrhea is curd-like or flaky, and the vaginal mucosa is highly red and swollen. White thrush-like plaques can be seen attached and easily peeled off. Underneath is the eroded base of the damaged mucosa, or shallow ulcers may form. In severe cases, ecchymosis may remain. However, not all leucorrhea has the above typical characteristics. Leucorrhea may range from watery to curd-like. Some are completely thin and clear serous exudates, which often contain white flakes. The itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis during pregnancy are particularly severe, and the patient may even feel restless and extremely painful. There may also be symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria and dyspareunia. In addition, about 10% of women and 30% of pregnant women are carriers of fungi but have no clinical manifestations.

2. Rational use of drugs for candidal vaginitis

1. Once diagnosed, active treatment should be initiated to strive for a complete cure. Otherwise, the disease will be prolonged and recurrent, causing a lot of trouble to the patient.

2. Pay attention to personal hygiene, change underwear frequently, and wash used underwear, basins, towels, etc. with boiling water and dry them in the sun.

3. Antibiotics and hormone drugs should be used rationally, and those with diabetes should actively treat the primary disease.

4. The drug treatment for fungi is mainly local medication. Because mold is not easy to grow in an alkaline environment, you can use an alkaline solution plus 2% to 4% sodium bicarbonate solution to rinse the vulva and vagina, and then insert 100,000 to 200,000 units of nystatin tablets or suppositories into the vagina once a night for 10 to 14 days as a course of treatment. You can also use 100,000 units of trichostatin tablets or suppositories and insert them into the vagina once a night for 10 to 14 days as a course of treatment. Daconazole suppository (miconazole nitrate suppository) also has a good effect on candidal vaginitis. Micodin effervescent vaginal tablets (mainly containing nystatin) can disintegrate rapidly when placed in the vagina due to its special dosage form, allowing nystatin to be evenly distributed in the vagina, thus achieving satisfactory therapeutic effects.

5. People with recurrent fungal infections or those who cannot be cured for a long time should undergo a comprehensive body examination to rule out diabetes and other organ infections. At the same time, pay attention to the irrational use of antibiotics and hormone drugs. If necessary, you can take oral drugs such as nystatin and ketoconazole under the guidance of a doctor.

6. Pregnant women suffering from candidal vaginitis should receive serious treatment. Mainly use local medication to prevent neonatal infection.
