Don’t take abdominal discomfort lightly, it might be gastroptosis!

Gastroptosis is a common gastrointestinal disease. Stomach discomfort can have a great impact on our lives and bodies. If not treated in time, it may threaten our lives and health. So what are the symptoms of gastroptosis?

Symptoms of gastroptosis:

1. Abdominal distension and upper abdominal discomfort: Patients often report a feeling of fullness, heaviness, and pressure in the abdomen.

2. Abdominal pain: mostly persistent dull pain. It often occurs after meals and is related to food intake. The more you eat, the longer the pain lasts and the more severe the pain is. At the same time, pain is related to activity, and activity after meals often makes the pain worse.

3. Nausea and vomiting: often occur after meals or when doing activities, especially when eating too much. This is because taking in a large amount of food at one time increases the traction of the stomach wall ligaments and causes pain, followed by nausea and vomiting.

4. Constipation: Constipation is often stubborn. The main reason may be that the transverse colon ptosis causes the hepatic flexure and splenic flexure of the colon to form an acute angle, resulting in slow passage.

5. Neuropsychiatric symptoms: Because the various symptoms of gastroptosis have long tortured patients, their mental burden is too heavy, resulting in insomnia, headache, dizziness, dullness, depression and other neuropsychiatric symptoms. Symptoms may also include hypotension, palpitations, and syncope upon standing.

6. Physical examination: The patient has a slender body shape. The tenderness point in the upper abdomen is not fixed due to changes in standing or lying positions. Sometimes, when impact palpation is used, or when the patient changes position rapidly, the sound of water vibrating below the navel can be heard. The aortic pulsation can be easily felt in the upper abdomen, often accompanied by signs of hepatoptosis, nephroptosis and colonoptosis.
