What causes frequent urination in women?

It is very common for women to experience frequent and painful urination in their daily lives, but most women do not take this situation seriously. Especially when such symptoms occur at night, the quality of sleep will be reduced, and many women feel very painful about this. Some women think that this is caused by their irregular lifestyle or drinking too much water. However, in addition to these reasons, there may be problems with the urinary system. So, why do women experience frequent and painful urination?

Gynecologists point out that when women experience frequent and painful urination, they may also experience redness and swelling of the external opening of the urinary tract. Frequent urination in women refers to an increase in the frequency of urination. The normal urination frequency for adults is generally 3 to 5 times during the day and 0 to 1 time at night, with a urine volume of 200-400 ml each time. But it also varies depending on water intake, weather and personal habits. Female urinary pain refers to the pain that women experience when urinating, which is a symptom caused by infection and other reproductive tract diseases.

Reasons for frequent and painful urination in women:

1. Inflammatory stimulation: When there is inflammation in the bladder, the urinary center is in an excited state, resulting in frequent urination and reduced urine volume. Therefore, frequent urination is an important symptom of cystitis, especially in acute cystitis and tuberculous cystitis. Other conditions such as prostatitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, chronic balanoposthitis in children, and vulvitis can also cause frequent urination. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency and pain often occur at the same time, which is called urinary tract irritation syndrome, commonly known as "triuria". This is why women experience frequent and painful urination.

2. Increased urine volume: When urine volume increases, the frequency of urination will also increase accordingly. Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a lot of water, eating watermelon, and drinking beer, due to the increase in water intake, the urine volume increases through the regulation and filtering function of the kidneys, and the frequency of urination also increases, resulting in frequent urination. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes and diabetes insipidus, they drink a lot of water, urinate a lot, and urinate frequently, but they do not feel any discomfort when urinating.

3. Reduced bladder capacity: such as bladder space-occupying lesions, compression from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contracture, or large bladder stones.

4. Non-inflammatory irritation: such as urinary stones and foreign bodies, usually with frequent urination as the main manifestation.

5. Psychoneural frequent urination: Frequent urination only occurs during the day or before falling asleep at night. It is often caused by mental tension or occurs in patients with hysteria. This may also be accompanied by urinary urgency and pain.

If you find that such symptoms occur frequently, female friends must take it seriously and go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible to see if you have some urinary system disease, such as urinary tract infection or vaginitis, etc. If frequent and painful urination is caused by an illness when it is diagnosed, then treatment must be sought as soon as possible.
