What are the early symptoms of uterine fibroids?

The uterus is a very important organ for women. If it suffers from a malignant disease, it must be removed, which is extremely harmful to infertile women. Therefore, we must pay attention to the health of the uterus. It is best to check the uterus regularly once a year. There are many diseases that the uterus can suffer from, the most common of which is uterine fibroids. This fibroid is benign and can restore a healthy uterus as long as it is treated. However, some patients also have malignant fibroids, which will be more difficult to treat. Therefore, patients need to know the early manifestations of the disease. So what are the main early manifestations of uterine fibroids?

1. Abnormal menstruation

Heavy menstrual flow and long menstrual periods are one of the early symptoms of uterine fibroids. Female friends with normal menstruation should pay attention if their menstrual cycle is shortened, the menstrual flow increases, the menstrual period is prolonged, and irregular vaginal bleeding occurs. Sometimes, even if the submucosal uterine fibroids are very small, they can cause menorrhagia. As the fibroids grow larger, the menstrual period is prolonged. Once the fibroids become necrotic, ulcerated, or infected, there will be persistent or irregular vaginal bleeding or purulent discharge.

2. Increased leucorrhea

Abnormal increase in vaginal discharge may also be an early symptom of uterine fibroids. Intramural fibroids will increase the area of the uterine cavity, increase the secretion of endometrial glands, and be accompanied by pelvic congestion, which will lead to increased leucorrhea. In addition, submucosal fibroids suspended in the vagina are prone to infection and necrosis on the surface, and will produce a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge, accompanied by a foul odor.

3. Abdominal mass.

When you have uterine fibroids, you will feel a lump in your abdomen that is hard and irregular in shape. The uterus is easier to feel in the early morning when the bladder is full and pushes upward.

4. Back pain

Abdominal pain, back pain, and lower abdominal distension can also be early symptoms of uterine fibroids, but they are not specific. Patients with uterine fibroids often experience lower abdominal distension, back pain, and acute abdominal pain when the fibroid pedicle twists. During pregnancy, they may also experience severe abdominal pain and fever.

5. Frequent urination and urination disorder

When uterine fibroids are large, they will compress adjacent organs. Compression of the bladder can cause frequent urination, urination problems, urinary retention, etc. Compression of the ureter can cause hydronephrosis, and compression of the rectum can cause difficulty in defecation, etc. These may be early symptoms of uterine fibroids.

The early manifestations of uterine fibroids are mostly in menstruation and leucorrhea. Stimulated by hormones, endocrine system, diet, etc., the fibroids will grow very fast, the patient's menstrual volume will increase, and the leucorrhea will also become abnormal with a noticeable odor. The fibroids will grow larger over time, and its symptoms will also increase. At this time, going to the hospital for examination can accurately diagnose the disease. Once it is confirmed to be uterine fibroids, it must be treated, otherwise it will be very dangerous when the fibroids grow bigger.
