How can dysmenorrhea be treated?

Female friends often feel that menstruation every month is too troublesome, and some even feel that it is too painful, because every time they have their period, they feel like they are going through a very severe test, and every time they have dysmenorrhea, they always feel as if they want to die. So, is there any way to treat dysmenorrhea and save women from the pain caused by dysmenorrhea?

◎Dietary adjustment for women during menstruation

In traditional Chinese medicine, dysmenorrhea in women is mostly caused by poor circulation of Qi and blood or deficiency of both Qi and blood, so they tend to use diet therapy to treat dysmenorrhea.

(1) 3 to 5 days before menstruation, avoid eating greasy food and food with strong flavors. Focus on facilitating digestion and absorption. Eat until you are 80% full at each meal. Avoid eating raw or cold food to avoid irritating the uterus.

(2) During menstruation, avoid eating raw, cold and spicy foods, and especially avoid strong alcohol. You can eat some sour foods to help relieve pain.

(3) During menstruation, if the menstrual blood is not heavy, you can drink some wine appropriately. It can relieve and treat the pain to a certain extent, regulate your mood, warm the yang and replenish the blood.

(4) Women with a history of dysmenorrhea should pay attention to maintaining smooth bowel movements and treat constipation in a timely manner. They should eat more foods that help treat constipation, such as honey, bananas, and celery. Avoid constipation which may induce dysmenorrhea or aggravate the pain.

◎Foods that women should eat more during menstruation

Eating more foods containing magnesium is helpful in relieving dysmenorrhea. Foods rich in magnesium include buckwheat, millet, corn, soybeans, peas, tofu, Chinese mustard, amaranth, shepherd's purse, seaweed, etc.

You should eat vegetables and fruits that have the effect of regulating qi and activating blood circulation regularly, such as coriander, carrot, bergamot, ginger, water spinach, etc. You can also drink more brown sugar ginger water to replenish qi and blood.

If female friends have dysmenorrhea, in addition to regulating with some Chinese medicine, they can also eat more of the foods mentioned above, especially avoid eating cold foods a few days before menstruation. During menstruation, avoid touching cold water, eat more brown sugar ginger soup, which can warm you up and relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea.
