The dangers of vaginal tightening surgery are so serious!

As we all know, as women age or have children, their vaginas will become loose, which will seriously affect the quality of life of couples. In order to solve this problem, some women will undergo vaginal tightening surgery, but here we remind everyone that this surgery has great risks and may bring the following hazards.

1. Postoperative wound infection: The main reasons are poor physical condition, uncured vaginal inflammation, inadequate preoperative preparation, or lax aseptic operation during surgery. There will be abnormal vaginal discharge with a foul odor, and in severe cases, systemic symptoms such as increased body temperature and increased white blood cell count will occur. At this time, it is necessary to strengthen systemic anti-infection treatment, change local dressings, keep the vulva clean, and most cases can be cured.

2. Damage to surrounding organs: The surgeon does not understand the anatomical layers clearly, performs the operation roughly, clamps too much tissue, sutures too deeply, etc., which may lead to damage to the bladder, rectum or urethra. Urine or feces overflows into the vagina during surgery, or there is abnormal secretion or odor in the vagina for a period of time after surgery. If injuries were found during the operation, they were repaired immediately. If the patient is found to have had an abnormality after a period of time after surgery, an elective repair should be performed.

3. Bleeding and hematoma: During the operation, the dissection area is too large, the hemostasis is not thorough, the ligation is not firm, or the surgical operation is rough and causes excessive tissue damage. After the operation, bright red blood will flow out of the vagina, or there will be a feeling of falling and holding urine. A hematoma mass can be felt during rectal finger examination of the posterior wall hematoma. If there is a small amount of bleeding or a small hematoma, you can use gauze to pack the vagina and apply local pressure to stop the bleeding. In case of heavy bleeding or large hematoma, the sutures should be removed promptly, the accumulated blood should be cleaned, the bleeding point should be found and re-sutured to stop the bleeding completely, and anti-infection treatment should be strengthened after the operation.

4. Vaginal stenosis: Improper surgical design, excessive mucosal resection, or wound contracture after infection. Sexual intercourse is painful, and in severe cases, sexual intercourse is impossible. For mild cases, vaginal dilator is used for dilation, and for severe cases, release surgery or skin grafting is performed.

5. Wound dehiscence: Excessive tissue removal leads to excessive wound tension, poor wound edge aligning, premature strenuous activity, postoperative constipation and wound infection, etc. Vaginal bleeding often occurs during strenuous activities or constipation. Re-suture immediately, strengthen anti-infection treatment, and rest in bed.

6. Insufficient tightening: After shrinkage, it does not reach the patient’s ideal level. Sexual life is a complex process, and surgery cannot improve sexual dissatisfaction caused by other reasons such as emotional disharmony, life pressure, etc.

7. Adverse reactions caused by anesthesia.
