Causes of menstrual disorders in girls

Causes of menstrual disorders in girls

Women should pay attention if they experience prolonged or delayed menstruation, excessive or insufficient menstrual flow, or menstrual discomfort. This is menstrual irregularity, which is mainly caused by two reasons. One is neuroendocrine dysfunction, such as adolescent and menopausal uterine bleeding, polycystic ovary, and amenorrhea. The other is caused by organic diseases or drugs, such as abnormal development of the uterus and genitals, malnutrition, inflammation of the reproductive organs, gynecological tumors, endocrine dysfunction, and the use of psychiatric drugs, etc., which can lead to menstrual irregularity. Therefore, if you have menstrual disorders, you must go to a gynecological hospital for examination in time and receive treatment according to the specific situation.

1. Abnormal emotions

Long-term mental depression, sulking, or severe mental stimulation and psychological trauma can all lead to menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, or amenorrhea. This is because menstruation is caused by the stimulation of the endometrium by hormones secreted by the ovaries, and the hormones secreted by the ovaries are controlled by the release of hormones from the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Therefore, any abnormality in the function of the ovaries, pituitary gland, or hypothalamus will affect menstruation.

2. Irregular living habits

According to research, if women are exposed to cold during menstruation, the blood vessels in the pelvis will contract, causing a decrease in menstrual volume or even amenorrhea. Therefore, women must have a regular life, avoid overwork, and especially keep warm during menstruation.

3. Excessive dieting

Research by relevant experts shows that girls need body fat to account for at least 17% of their body weight for menarche to occur, and body fat must reach at least 22% of their body weight to maintain a normal menstrual cycle. Excessive dieting will cause a large amount of fat and protein in the body to be consumed due to insufficient energy intake, resulting in estrogen synthesis disorders and obvious estrogen deficiency, affecting menstruation, or even causing scanty menstruation or amenorrhea. Therefore, women who pursue a slim figure must not diet blindly.

If your menstrual bleeding does not decrease after 24 hours, your menstrual flow is heavy, or your menstrual flow is light or non-existent, it is recommended to see a doctor immediately. You should have a regular daily life, avoid overwork, keep warm and prevent cold, especially avoid cold in the lower abdomen. In addition, you should pay attention to supplementing enough iron in your diet to prevent iron deficiency anemia, such as lamb, black beans, sea cucumbers, etc. You should also adjust your mentality and avoid too much stress, so that you can stay away from this disease as soon as possible.
