Pubic hair follicle mass

Pubic hair follicle mass

Pubic follicle lumps are a specific manifestation of pubic folliculitis, and are generally more obvious at the base of the penis. Patients with pubic folliculitis often have many hair follicle masses on the penis. They are dark in color and although the masses are not large, they have a granular feel and often cause genital itching and pain in the patient. So, what should you do if you have hair follicle lumps in your pubic area?

Folliculitis is a human disease, which belongs to the inflammation of hair follicles. The symptoms are mainly at the base of the penis. When it first occurs, the most common symptoms are scattered, rice-sized, bright red or dark red follicular papules. There will be a few bumps in the pubic hair, and sometimes some white heads will appear. The penis and pubic hair will be very itchy.

Typically, folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair follicles caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The female vulva is covered with pubic hair from the mons pubis to the skin outside the labia majora. In daily life, because the vulva is easily contaminated with urine, feces and leucorrhea, the skin of the vulva is often in a humid environment, and this humid environment is very suitable for bacterial growth.

Generally, genital folliculitis mainly grows on the genitals. Its symptoms begin with pain at the hair follicle opening and its surrounding area, slightly red skin, and gradually red blisters and tenderness appear. There is a hair sticking out from the top of the red blister. If there is pus, a small white dot may appear on the top of the red blister. There can be one or more hair follicles infected. If inflammation worsens, an abscess may form.

In fact, the treatment of folliculitis is not difficult. First of all, the vulva should be kept clean and dry. You can use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution or Chinese medicine for clearing heat and detoxification for sitz bath, and then apply antibiotic ointment. If there are many infected hair follicles and the pain is obvious, you should rest properly.

In daily life, for patients with chronic recurrent attacks, furunculosis vaccine can be injected subcutaneously once a week. Generally, there are no adverse reactions after injection. If there is fever or other discomfort, do not increase the dosage. If necessary, reduce the dosage or stop using it. If folliculitis recurs, you should also check for systemic diseases.
