How much do you know about the causes and clinical manifestations of retroverted uterus and uterine prolapse? Many friends may think that these are the same two conditions, but in fact they are different. I don’t know how much you know about them. I would like to introduce them to you. The uterine problems of these two conditions have a great impact on women’s health. If you need to know more, let’s take a closer look! 1. Causes of Retroverted Uterus 1. Inflammation of the uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries causes tissue adhesion between the uterine body and the rectum behind it, causing the uterus to move out of its original position under traction and tip backwards, resulting in a posterior position of the uterus with poor mobility. 2. Due to congenital hypoplasia of the uterus, the uterine ligaments become loose, causing the bottom of the uterus to tilt backwards or to the left or right. 3. Multiple artificial abortions, or failure to rest well after artificial abortions, pelvic infection, causing the uterus to tip backwards. 2. Clinical manifestations of retroverted uterus Depending on the degree of retroversion of the uterus, the retroverted uterus is divided into grades I, II, and III. Mild retroverted uterus (grades I-II) generally does not cause symptoms and does not require treatment. Severe retroverted uterus often causes symptoms, mainly lower back pain. In mild cases, there is only soreness and discomfort in the lower back. In severe cases, the entire waist, sacrum and coccyx, and iliac regions on both sides feel sore and uncomfortable. In some patients, the soreness and swelling extend to the lower back and groin on both sides. Lower abdominal soreness and anal distension often coexist, and symptoms are often aggravated by fatigue and menstruation. If not corrected in time, it may also lead to dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, increased leucorrhea, sexual discomfort, miscarriage, infertility, etc. For patients with retroverted uterus, if the retroverted uterus has not automatically corrected three months after conception, the displacement of the bladder neck and urethra and the upturned cervix may compress the posterior urethra and cause acute urinary retention. 3. Causes of uterine prolapse The main reasons are damage to the cervix, cardinal cervical ligament and uterosacral ligament caused by delivery and failure of supporting tissues to return to normal after delivery. In addition, most women in the postpartum period like to lie on their backs and are prone to chronic urinary retention. The uterus is prone to become posterior, with the axis of the uterus in the same direction as the axis of the vagina. When the abdominal pressure increases, the uterus will descend along the direction of the vagina and prolapse will occur. Postpartum squatting (such as washing diapers, washing vegetables, etc.) can increase abdominal pressure and cause uterine prolapse. Uterine prolapse in nulliparous women is caused by poor development of the supporting tissues of the reproductive organs. This is all I have to say about the causes and clinical manifestations of retroverted uterus and uterine prolapse. I hope you can learn more about your own body. We should pay more attention to these basic causes. I also hope that everyone can be in good health. We all don’t want to be in bad health. |
