What causes dry and peeling feet?

The weather turns cooler and the air becomes drier. Many people experience peeling and itchy skin on their hands and feet. The feet are an important part of our body. If we ignore them or even take no measures to treat them, it will have a great impact on our body and also affect our mental state. So why do feet become dry and peeling? Let me explain it to you.

The cause of peeling feet is still unclear, but because it is often accompanied by damp feet, some people believe that it is related to poor sweating. Some people also believe that it is related to fungal infections in other parts of the human body, such as tinea manuum and pedis. This peeling phenomenon will occur on the palms and soles of patients in late spring, summer and autumn every year when the temperature is high and the humidity is high. This is the result of the separation of the stratum corneum and epidermal cells of the epidermis. At first, some small white spots appear on the soles of the feet, and then gradually expand to form dried blisters of varying sizes. A layer of whitish stratum corneum appears on the surface, which can naturally break and fall off like a layer of translucent thin paper. If it continues to fall off, what will be left behind is a large area of pink new growth that looks like a map.

The dangers of peeling feet

Many people find it difficult to adapt to the temperature changes after the beginning of autumn. The hands become dry, begin to itch, and form blisters, followed by vacuolar peeling, eventually revealing the fresh flesh color and becoming cracked. Housewives may also suffer from peeling and cracking skin due to contact with laundry detergent. This allows germs and viruses to take advantage of the situation, increasing the chance of infection and turning minor illnesses into major ones. Some people experience peeling skin all year round, and the problem recurs every year and gets worse year by year. This disease is not caused by fungi, so antifungal drugs are ineffective against it.

Peeling feet is not a difficult disease to cure. Just pay attention to lubricating your feet to prevent them from being too dry. It is best to wear cloth shoes or breathable sneakers when going out, and wear shoes barefoot without socks. If the peeling becomes more and more serious, it is recommended that you go to the hospital and take appropriate amounts of vitamin B tablets, cod liver oil, and drink nutritious milk powder.
