How is endometritis diagnosed?

If you suffer from endometritis and it is not treated in time, it will easily lead to infertility problems. Therefore, if you want to maintain a healthy reproductive state in the future, you must pay attention to go to the hospital for a physical examination in time. If you have endometritis, you can get treatment in time. So what are the symptoms of endometritis?

Postpartum infection and infected abortion are the most common causes of endometritis and are also the most serious types. Common bacteria that cause endometritis include Escherichia coli.

1. Acute endometritis

Acute endometritis may cause mild fever, lower abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, blood in the vaginal discharge and a foul odor. If acute endometritis is not treated in time, it may develop into deep-seated myometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and even infertility and sepsis.

Treatment of endometritis should target the cause of the inflammation in the endometrium. If there are placental residues, they should be removed; intrauterine contraceptive devices should be removed as soon as possible; and uterine fibroids or polyps should be surgically removed. In addition, antibiotics such as gentamicin, kanamycin, metronidazole, etc. should be used. Generally, the disease can be controlled after a few days by injecting gentamicin intramuscularly, 60-80 mg each time, once every 8 hours, plus taking metronidazole orally, 0.4 g each time, 3 times a day.

2. Chronic endometritis

The main symptoms of chronic endometritis are irregular menstruation or uterine bleeding, lower abdominal pain or distension, increased leucorrhea, fever, etc. In addition, the uterus is enlarged and the tissues around the uterus are thickened and tender. If an elderly person suffers from chronic endometritis, vaginal bleeding will occur again after menopause, and the leucorrhea will increase, become thinner and bloody.

There are different treatments for different types of endometritis, so women still need to go to the hospital for regular physical examinations. Not only do they need to check the uterus, but they also need to check their other parts of the body in a timely manner to prevent physical illnesses from getting worse if not treated in time.
